I just got done seeing Billy Joel in Madison Square Garden.
Anybody else seen him live? Fantastic preformance, played all our favorites -- Allentown, Sometimes Just a Fantasy, We Didn't Start the Fire, Only the Good Die Young, She'll Always Be a Woman, Billy the Kid, just... a lot of songs, though I am not in the mood to write out the set list right this split second. And, yes, he closed with his encore -- Piano Man.
It was an amazing, amazing show, the lighting was spectacular, Madison Square Garden was PACKED.
If anybody gets a chance to see him, GO!
So... any other Billy Joel fans out there?

Unless he plays death or black metal I'm not really interested.

Yeah, I have enjoyed his music for a long time. I even saw Moving out, the Musical done to Billy Joel music. Goodnight Saigon and Piano Man are probably my favorites.

I've heard a few of his songs. They're pretty good.
I liked the one he sang in Oliver & Company. Any of you remember that movie? He was the voice of one of the dogs.

Awww... Well, I like a lot of music. One of my friends has an industrial band heading for a contract --
Handful of Dust.
Go yonder to it:
HoD
They're in the studio now recording demos of their newest songs.

Sounds a bit like Marilyn Manson.

Quite good.

*nods* Billy Joel is one of those few performers where I actually enjoy listening to his live performances over his CD/radio recordings. . .
But Piano Man was his encore? I thought encores were supposed to be a surprise -- how could he have gotten away with doing a concert
without Piano Man.

I always say they're a cross between Nine Inch Nails and Marilyn Manson.

Yeah, I totally understand what you're saying.
And, with how all the people were at Madison Square Garden... we would have ate him alive if he didn't play
Piano Man. He made us work for it though, his entire encore consisted off like several songs... and only then after
MUCH teasing of the audiance did he play Piano man, and then it was like
20 THOUAND+ people singing along...
Amazing. And during the black out when he left stage, before his encore, everybody whipped out their cellphones. It looked like a thousand tiny stars. Such a cool effect. [/quote]

I only like "Piano Man". A childhood song.
