Having recently read an article in the December 2005 issue of Fortune magazine called Profitmon, I couldn't help but think that Freeborn is really on the right track. To sum up the article, it was about the regular movie/TV/DVD business vs. the U.S. anime market. According to the article, the general U.S. entertainment industry is becoming less profitable all the time, and much of this is due to ignoring its fans or, even worse, seeming to enjoy snubbing the fans. Meanwhile, the anime industry is enormously profitable and growing, at least partly because it has a business model of catering to its fans.
If the creators of "Freeborn" ever need to bolster their case, I'd recommend clipping that article and sending it to whoever might be wanting to change the movie to another generic werewolf movie.
