I'm sure most information is tentative at this point, but being an actor myself, I feel inclined to ask-
Will there be any open auditions for this project? If so, where/when are they planned to occur?

I was wondering when that question would come up. As far as I know it. Casting will not begin until after the new year. They're busy working on another film at the moment. But I think they're going to have video submissions and make it an open call. I've heard rumours of that, but i cant give the official word.

Cool. So the rumors are that their going to talent search for this film? If not, I'd recommend it -- there are plenty of people out there that can act better than TV's top hunks and would do it for a hell of a lot less.
And when they do start taking video submissions, you'll let us know, right?

Yeah we went out and looked at location today. "Slither" is going to be good but I can't wait for Devour to go into production.

Hopefully the movie doesn't star anyone under the age of 30. Nothing ruins a good movie like teenagers.

Not necessarily. What really ruins a movie is when the
entire cast is under 30. A mature teen might be a good choice for a rookie werewolf, but definitely not the entire cast.

I think age is irrelivant, as long as the characters are true, the performances are on, and the script isn't juvinile in nature. (unless thats what you're going for, which we're not)
My own personal opinion.

I always wanted to be in a film, can I be in yours? I don't know why, but it just sounds like a bad pickup line when I say it like that! nah... actually, I'm just kidding. I'll stick to my music ;)

Which makes me wonder, where is this film going to be, ah, filmed? The location of the production company doesn't matter so much as the location of the production. If you have a general idea of where in the country this'll be shot, perhaps someone here will be more inclined to try for a role if it's local. At the least, someone might be more inclined to stop by the set.

My vote is for some folks that are good actors, and some folks that can create some scary/realistic WWs. I don't care about age, except that I don't think it would be good to have a whole cast of any particular age/build/race/gender/etc.
PLEASE, PLEASE, not a cast of models. If I want to see that kind of acting, I can go to the mall and watch the mannequins.

Just thought I would drop a quick note here. We are in the process of nailing down the specifics of the charter’s attributes. We have not started the casting process yet, but we are in the pre-work of it. We do know how we want the relationships to feel and have some specific ideas as to age, abilities etc. You might say we are fleshing them out.
Be patient, we want to get this right.

I concur. Personally, if I knew tens of thousands of little hairs were going to sprout out of my face in places I never imagined possible an average of once a month wether I wanted to or not, I wouldn't put that much effort into keeping my skin baby-bottom smoothe.

I'm hoping to see at least one or two veteran actors. Doesn't matter who it is.

I hope these actors know that there is a bunch of werewolf fans standing behind them once they get the part.

If you're looking for sheer horror,
few things are as frightening to werewolves as Bea Arthur.
Especially if she sings.
(Twice.)
I felt contractually-obligated to bring that up.
=========
As far as casting goes,
I'm sure name-recognition helps with promotion of the film and
getting the average schmoe to see it.
For me, I'm more concerned that the actors be good than be famous.
As far as appearance goes,
I remember what one FX guy said about working on "Wolf" and working
with Jack Nicholson.
He said that the way he made someone look sinister was by adding
diagonal lines to their face,
and Nicholson was great for this, since his face is loaded with diagonals.

Ya probably won't be able to get her, since big stars like her are in high demand and also demand high prices, but...
She makes a good werewolf, huh?

How did I know that was coming?

Hey, at least you didn't put up that picture....
It would be nice to see a familiar face or two but if the actors are passionate, can act well and their emotions and portrayals of the characters are genuine, it's all good with me.

One more thing that makes a big difference is actors that actually
WANT and ENJOY the role they are playing. Those that play their roles just because they want the money, well... it shows.

Perhaps we could have a scene where the 'wolves break out into a chorus of howling upon hearing a recording of her sing?

I don't know about wolves breaking into a chorus of howl, but I'd bet there'd be movie goers breaking into a chorus of moans... Does that count?
