McAffee is the devil. What really sucks is it burrows deep into your registry and leaves crap there to keep your stuff from working even if you try to uninstall it. You have to manually go through your registry and get rid of it.

well i'm not sure it's McAfee. Because it'll let me download the program(s) but it won't let me install it even it was on CD. I can't up date anything either.

yeah... OS priviliges, Net cafes have thm to prevent people getting free usage on their PCs.
It's definately something to do with your antivirus.' Bit comet, limewire, kazza, ect. are all 'non-commercial' products, so they are not recognised as 'safe software'
I suggest uninstalling that mcafee thing from the directory, then hunt down any trace of mcafee on you're pc with 'pc search' (inbuilt into you're start menu)
as a solution to viruses, I recommend you use something like norton, or spybotSD. and try to stay away from dubious sites and downloads.

no... but any way it's not just those programs I'm having difficulty with. It's every thing, like i can't play computer games that i got from the library.

3 words get a mac
I have noooo idea what is causing your problem
if you have the dough you could just go to a computer place like computer Rx and have them uninstall all the McAfee and defrag your harddrive
Otherwise i am totally clueless
note: i have had my mac for 2 years and have NO problems with it
it can run office, explorer etc. and as an added bonus NO ADWARE OR SPYWARE

Stick with your PC.
It has nothing to do with the fact that you have a PC, it has to do with your bum antivirus software.
Get Avast! Home Edition.

yeah, there is a reason that there is no spyware of viruses for Macs; they realize you have suffered enough by simply having one. they dont want to make you suicidal.

sorry if my previous post offended anyone
i have been sick with a stomach virus for the past 3 days and well.... it REALLY sucks
Additionally the mac i use is OS 10.4 tiger which has given me NO problems... so far
Anubis you have iTunes, which is made by apple, who produces macs. Macs work exactly like iTunes.... only better

On the other hand, Macintosh System 6 was the best OS ever.

Except for, you know, the fact that X11 hates humanity with the passion of 1,000 suns.
As a person who currently has four boxes behind him running various distros of linux, and is responsible for the administration of about half-dozen more running the same, I feel I'm qualified in saying that linux really isn't ready for most people's desktops. Especially not in they way Mac OS X, or even Windows is.
Also, that picture you have is a picture of a Lisa, and the only thing they really had in common was a CPU that's been in a multitude of products.

thanks for the props Renorei, however let me say this. For professional film and photo manipulation macs are the best. for a home pc, they are impractical and over priced. So what if they use windows? I still wouldnt like them because the only way to get one includes being shafted by Mac for a pre built computer. If I am gonna buy a computer, you can be damn sure I am gonna build it myself. Also you say that you have had no errors, no lockups or anything; I can say the same for my XP Pro X64. so to you geekboy1500, I say this: Right click, dude.
