Are vampires aloud here?
I've told my friend all about you guys and this forum, and she really would like to join and meet everyone here, but her avatar and role playing character will probably most likely be a vampire.
She likes werewolves don't worry, but she likes vampires too
She wanted me to ask you guys if it was ok, since she knows vampires and werewolves are enemies.

So what do you say?

Well, could you ask her for me if she can make her avatar to be of some werewolf, or some kind of animal, im pretty shure everyone would prefer if its not a vampire .Its odd enough as it is for me that one person has a vampire for a siggy. I just think this board wont seem like a werewolf baord if thiers people with vampire avatars on it, its perfectly find if it has other antros or mythical creautres or even natural creatures. I dont care if she likes vampires, she can talk about them if she wants. I just prefer that when werewolf fans come in here they wont be looking at a vmpire avatar. Dont take me wrong though cause I like vampires, its just that in almost every board thats suppoosely for werewolves, hardly anyone has a werewolf avatar and half of the time it ends up having a vampire avatar, I dont wont to see that here.

I don't care, as long as she's not blatantly vampiric (an avatar and RP character is fine) in every other post she makes and as long as she never suggests a superiority of vampires over werewolves...not only is that ridiculous...it will likely start a flame war, and no one wants that. Basically, just use common sense. A vampire-fan can happily coexist with a group of diehard werewolf fans if she just remembers to think carefully before she makes posts that have to do with both vampires and werewolves.

We make some of remarks about how werewolf kicks a vampire arse any day, so if she prefers vampires over werewolves then she might be joining the wrong forum.

Vampires, werewolves, dragons, jaguarundi, penguins, even rabbits,((throw a duckie at me if I missed some ))
I don't think it matters, we all love what we love, this places is for everyone I mean if you want to get technical look at some of our pack members

She might decide to join and have a vampire avatar no matter what, so if she does please be nice. I doubt she'll say anything about vampires being better than werewolves(which is so not ture.)

I'll probably put an announcement in the announcement thread, but I figured I'd go ahead and say it here. This is something I've been mulling over for the past couple months.

I've finally come to three conclusions:
1. I AM a furry.
2. My fursona IS a domesticated canine (a.k.a. Dog).
3. My fursona IS NOT, specifically, a chihuahua.

While I absolutely adore the little beasts, the personality of this particular breed doesn't really fit mine. However, the personality of the average dog most certainly does. While it might not be evident online, I'm highly cuddly, somewhat high-maintenance, emotionally sensitive, and extremely devoted and loyal. All of which are traits of the average dog. Plus, I love dogs, so it makes sense that they'd be my fursona.

Ultimately, what I've decided is that, while I am a dog, or were-dog if you prefer, I no longer want to be represented by a specific breed of dog.

And, though my avatar does look like a chihuahua, it could also be many other types of dog as well.

I may decide to change over time to be some different type of canine, but I will likely always be in the canid family. The farthest I'd ever go away from that would be equine...but as someone who's owned plenty horses and dogs, I can say that their personalities are fairly similar (or at least in the ways that it counts).

So....there you have it! I'm a furry dog!

How does all that makes you a furry. So you personality matches more to an average dog rather than a chihuahua, you can make yourself a were-dog for all I know. but I truly hope you dont change your avatar, it really matches the way you look, and it still matches your personality weather you thinks so or not. Everytime I see your picture, I see that chihuahua on your avatar.

Trust me. You either know you're a furry, or you know you're not. And, another website that I frequent has helped me to learn that I am.

At the very least, a furry is someone who's a fan of anthromorphized animals, and an animal lover...and someone who's comfortable calling themself a 'furry'. Anyway, I meet all those criteria, and even more beyond that. I haven't really changed at all as a person...I've sorta always been a furry, but I've only recently been comfortable with the title 'furry'.

My current avatar could easily be many many other types of domesticated dog...so I don't plan on changing it.

And even if I do change it in the future (which I don't plan on it), it will still be this character I have created, with the same color pattern, and will likely still have the perky ears and devious grin.

Nope. Though some people are both therians and furries, they are two different things, and many people are only one or the other.

Therians are people who think they have animal souls inside them.

Furries are people who love animals, and are fans of anthromorphized animals. There are many other things that can make you a furry, but these are widely accepted as the minimum traits that most furries share. Furries are a very variable group, so I won't go into any kind of detail on what furries are. Wikipedia may be able to help you understand better.

The main thing to be aware of is that most furries aren't what pop culture dictates that they are...people who dress up in mascot costumes and go to conventions and yiff total strangers.

Well ok. I didnt think your were the type that liked animals that wear T-shirts and have human hair and speak humans too language aswell as acting just like humans, personaly thats not what I like.
