Silly question, but I find it amusing If you had wings, what type would you have/want?

I'd like bat wings So cool! On my back, so my arms would be free to do other things. Feathers just require too much preening

I'd have buffalo wings!! Those are so tasty!!

Oh wait!! You mean wings for flying.

Does it have to be a real animal? Cause I'd go for dragon wings.

Yeah, well, for all dragons, I think of them as giant bat wings. Attatched to their forelimbs or growing out of their backs

I'd want great big white feathered wings.

If having working, fully flight capable wings on your back, in addition to my arms was possible, then that is what I would have...but with a combination of Fur/Hair and Feathers...mostly Feathers. Feathers are pretty. ...and much more functional for aerodynamics.

I don't mind 'preening'...I do that all the time anyway.

Hmmm, is it to late for me to add a 'no wings' and 'dragon wings' option? Bat wings will be for them attached to your arms, while dragon would be ones on your back.
With that definition, I'd go with the very bat-like dragon wings

I would have to agree with Lupin on the most part.

...though I would definately love the ability to fly, wings would be an extrordinary inconvenience when you are doing anything other than flying. The size they would need to be to make them capable of lifting you off the ground in true flight, or even extended gliding, would double your bodies volume, and would be quite heavy and cumbersome as well.

The Way Angels wings became nearly invisible, and non-existant under his coat when he strapped them, like in the X-men movie, is impossible. You couldn't really just make them seem to vanish like that.

...allthough, if it was the kind of thing that you could make come and go as you please...dissapearing entirely when you don't need them...(magical wings) then that would be an entirely different story.

Given the chance to get "Permanent" wings...I would have to decline as well.

However, the question wasn't "Would you want them?"...it was..."IF you had wings, what kind would they be?"

...so if I had to...see previous response...

Not nessesarily wings, but it'll make me fly =D

And I KNEW you was mention an airplane when it comes to traveling by flying. If humans really did have wings, would we have airplanes today?

No wings for me. Too clumsy when not doing anything other than flying..

If I was gonna fly, I'd want it'd be like, superman-esque kind of flying.

You just go up, up, and away!



Though I had wings, I'd want feathered ones. If for nothing other than the fact that they look good.

Pffft. Physical wings.

I wouldn't just have one pair, I'd have two, on my back and made of energy. They'd be semi-transparent, black in color, huge when spread, and would seem to disappear completely when folded. And no excessive flapping for me either. These things would get me off the ground with practically none.

I don't know many birds that can cross oceans at 500 miles an hour. And just beause people can drive most everywhere doesn't stop the business of domestic plane flights.
