Because I can't make up my mind...

I'm having some trouble deciding what animal I want my fursona to be. So now I'm bugging you all for help.

I don't like water animals or invertabrates, and I know I don't want to be a wolf, domestic dog, horse, or lion. I like foxes but I don't know if I really am the vulpine type. With foxes there's also the issue of deciding between a normal fox and a multi-tail.

One person I asked already suggested African wild dog, jackal, and Egyptian vulture. I don't know what I want though, so feel free to tell me anything you think would be good, or just say "What in hell are you thinking?! You're a bat, you moron!"

Heh, sorry don't think I can be of much help. My fursona is my true self so I never had to make that decision. I'd suggest something unique though, like a genet or a yapok.

i suggest you just wait till it comes to you. You just pick something, then later on what you really want will come along and then you'll have to change it. But i guess that's not a big deal.

but if you're hoping for bat, pick bat.

Fursona

A contraction of "furry" and "persona."

Its an "alter ego" of a furry.

It can be artwork of a humanoid animal, or the costume they wear.

(Correct me if I'm wrong.)

I am a therian. But I'm a fur as well.
I like to take advantage of every opportunity to let kitty come out to play without people thinking I'm insane. ;)
(and no, not in a sexual sense- gross)

Well, this isn't a furry forum -- just a forum that happens to have a number of furries involved, so I'm not sure you're going to get a lot of good answers. :P

I can offer these tips though.

1) Your fursona does not have to be final. If it doesn't fit, you can change it later.

2) Your fursona does not need to be finite. Hybrids are a common sight, as are fantasy creatures, pokemon, etc.

3) You do not need to limit yourself to just one fursona. Plenty of furries use only one fursona as their alias, but have multiple characters for their different aspects.

In short, there are no rules. In other words, go nuts.

Well if you know any furry forums that can put up with me feel free to give me a link.

I'll keep that in mind. :)

Exactly...if nothing fits...make something up.

Take me, for example. "VULDARI" is one of These creatures.
(I've Really got to do an updated picture of one of these guys)

I Liked Foxes...I liked Dragons...but I'm not a big fan of canopy-bat/dragon wings, prefering the aesthetic appeal of feathers...so this is what I got when I mixed all three together. ...a "Fobidra".

...sure...furry dragons are not exactly an original idea, but for what I wanted, it worked.

Choose somthing...change your mind and be something else...combine the two into a third incarnation...then scrap it all and be a YAK for a day...

Like Terastas said...NO RULES...

Interesting.

You know....

...I really like the character I created. Where else are you going to find a brown and white werewolf, with grey ears, that likes to toss rubber duckies at other werewolves? Image

The name I gave him is also unique.

I have no plans on changing this character. I will always have him by my side.

I know some people can get bored of thier name/character. If you change it, others can get confused and may not know who you are unless you tell them what you did. A few of them may have grown to like the character you created. Changing it may disappoint them.

Go for something interesting. Be unique. Try to stand out from the rest of the crowd.

It worked for me.

Long live Figarou!!! Image
