If you Could Become a Werewolf, Would you?

Ok, first I am talking about PHYSICAL transformations
and if you already are a werewolf well....

I'd need a "Depends" answer, or at least a description of the variety of Lycanthropy we are talking about to answer this question.

If all it meant to be a werewolf was gaining the ability to transform into a gestalt and/or ferral wolf form at will (or at specific time, IE: "Full Moon"), and back again, plus regenerative abilities and extended lifespan, then YES...why wouldn't I?

...but depending on what other factors are involved (altered psychology... lethal allergies to silver... really UGLY transformed state... need to kill... magnitude of pain involved with TF... curses... etc, etc...) I find it very likely that I would decline, if presented with the opportunity in real life.

It is my Greatest fantasy to be a shapeshifter...but I do not desire it at "ANY-COST". I have my limits.

On average however... NO... I don't think I would.

(Of course, if someone bit me against my will, I wouldn't have a choice, now would I?)

ok someone HELP I cannot find the "add option" thingy for polls!!!!

So this does not appear when you go in to edit the poll?...

...In that case, I don't know. Maybe only Moderators can edit them after the polls have allready started. I know that regular users can only delete thier own posts if no one has posted any messages after it. Maybe because I responded, it won't let you change it now.

Depends.
Need to kill, losing control, violent, ugly man-bear-pig body, then no thanks :P

If it was the WW that we all discuss and love, then hells yeah! 8) Still have human mind, Goldenwolf kindof look to you, can control shifts, not a blood-thirsty monster, ect
Bring it on!

I would definetely. No doubt as long as it doesn't involve a mindless thirst for killing.

One more thing that i was thinking, if you were getting the "virus" what would your ideal cercomstances be (still unable to spell)

Assuming that the transformed state actually looked like a wolf, and there wasn't any mindless killing machine thing going on. I wouldn't give it a second thought. Even if there wasn't any sort of gestalt state.

I think "Depends" and "Maybe So" mean the same thing. There is not a need for both.

Ideal Circumstances?

Well...I'm vain and gentle...So I'd want to look awesome when transformed (Namely, Beautiful like a Wolf) and don't want to die, or to kill unnecesarily... so no uncontrollable blood lust, and a strong body and good health would be most welcome.

...and having a full sized, nice-looking Tail would be a must.
Image

Honestly...I don't know what I would even DO with the extra abilities if I had them. Enhanced senses would come in handy, but otherwise...

...I think I would just enjoy looking awesome, and being able to live as a Wild Animal for a day...

I'm with Lupin. Becoming a wolf would be the most exiting thing for me...having a "Gestalt" form would just be a nice bonus...but not needed.

------------------

...If I could choose my ideal scenario, that is...

But I don't think being a werewolf would BE Like That.

If it were ugly, no. Otherwise yes. And for the silver thing, it wouldn't bother me really. If I was stabbed/shot with it now, it wouldn't be wonderful anyhow.

Agreed. OF course, a gestalt would be a nice bonus. Adds some more lupine advantages with handy things (er, pun not intended) like thumbs and fingers. :P

Oh, of course it would. It would also give you the wonderful ability to scare the crap out of people, which just wouldn't have the same qualities as a wolf. Meanwhile, the wolf form would give you the ability to wander around unnoticed, especially if you spent $12 at Petsmart. I was just saying that I think the neatest thing would be the ability to turn into a wolf.

I see the wolf as more of a bonus than the gestalt, but hey thats just me :)

True, prevents from attracting attention.

For some reasom I just still dont see how a turning into a wolf will automaticly make you a werewolf you wont be half man in that form, you'll be qualified as a shapeshifter, but not a werewolf.

I think around here, I've got a pretty good guess of the probability spread.

Not necessarily. If I can call someone a werewolf when they are in human form, because they can become 50/50 wolf/human, then someone who is 50/50 altogether (but not at the same time) should be at least as much a werewolf as the former.

But if you look at shows and movies where all these people turn into a tiger, leapord, panther, bear they never called them a were-something. In almost all shows when a person just transform into a wolf, I never heard them call them a werewolf, only a shapeshifter, or I hear them say "you'll will turn into a wolf soon". And in the third Harry Potter movie, the only one that was called a werewolf really was the proffesor even though the other guy can turn into a wolf. So im just so use to werewolves being half himan at the same time.

I don't see the two as mutually exclusive really. Someone who only changes half-way to a wolf has still shapeshifted.

But a werewolf's defenition states that when a man transfroms into a creature thats half man half wolf.
