Mothers house so now I'm here with her and my sister her husband and the babies in close quaters :P The good thing is I have the compy again except it's my sisters and it's rather slow, but it gets the job done fer now

It's funny my sister her babies an me had just come in from shopping fer groceries...yeah :P About ten mins after we got in the power died as that storm hit Wensday evening and it was a big storm too..obiviously :(

I swear it was a tornado and I know I saw some rotation and the jet stream was flowing quickly across the sky so I knew my self even before the sirens went off to get the babies downstairs..Oh brave me went back upstairs an out on the porch  Almost clonked by flying debris :P Which was mostly parts of trees.

We lost power an still don't have it in our house. Sapposly we live in the part of the neighborhood that takes the longest to get power hence we still have no power. We have a very ancient tree in our backyard.. Must be hundreds of years old.. It lost many limbs..I actually cried over that, I rather love that tree as I can see it out my bedroom window every night..

Lots of trees fell..tis sad..

We then got hit by another storm of the same type while out looking for a hotel so we headed back to the house to find more trees down and we were going to attempt to stay at the house but in the basement, but the heat had lil Mya have a breathing attack so we left out to another part of Missouri to find hotel that wasn't booked already..We found a nice hotel out in the wooded area of Missouri, small city nice folks too :D

I love kids so all the kids in the other hotel rooms heh well where we were there were frogs jumping around at night so me and the kids went frog hunting  It was cute they kept calling me ma' am cause they couldn't remember my name!! hehe x3 I didn't wanna leave and they wanted me to stay, but we had to go :( Their familes were really nice too, so we are going to keep in contact :D

So out of the bad there came some good after all I could say :D So now the only thing we are waiting for now is power back at home. We are going to do some shopping fer grocieries today and hopefully we don't have any more power outages this year because this cost us alot of money an since only Stan works (my sisters husband) that's our only income now..

So if anyone has any advice on making some quick dough please share, lucky I get my check in a few days :D So anyways that was an still is one hell experience for us all. The babies are very uncomfortable actually they have been screaming more than usual and they are finding it hard to sleep..I don't blame them..It's a mess fer sure and it might not be over..Ah life isn't fair to is it? :P

Ah that's awful :P I heard that many people still have no power and it may be awhile before they have any. My sister's husband is going back to their house to see if the power is back on yet.. I do hope it is. I rather miss being there and well it's home :( btw how long has your power been out there?

We're into the fifth and, hopefully (touching wood) last day of a century-mark heat wave. It's been wavering back and forth between 95 and 108 here since last Thursday; they've been telling people to stay indoors with the A/C on. So far, the electrical infrastructure is holding steady, probably because there ain't too many of us compared to most cities and towns.

Today was the first day I ventured out my door since Thursday. I did it to ship an Ebay item I sold and also because I was getting stir crazy in spite of the pleasant temp here in my apartment.

Yeah I know air conditioners are supposed to be bad, but so is heat prostration. We had four people die in the Bay Area because their a/c gave out. Most of the people saying that a/c is bad grew up during the 70s and in that era, 100-degree temps only happened in the desert with any regularity. I remember we'd break out the lemonade and slip-'n-slide when th mercury hit 80 when I was growing up.

Global warming? Oh yeah. I'm a believer...

I couldn't get back into my a/c'ed apartment fast enough. I pulled into my carport thinking, "Ten yards to coolness!!" Yeah, I think this old Uktena/Strider Metis is becoming distinctly Glass Walkerish, at least for the interim...
