Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy BBC series

Post by Chance »

I was lucky enough to find this at HPB one day paroosing the vhs section, which I might add is a great section. They have a ton of vhs's, that's where I get mine. So if you're ever in one take a look, well, if you have a vhs player :P

Anywho, I bought a two tape set of the BBC Hitchhikers series. If you haven't seen it, you can find some of the episodes on youtube I think. At least some clips to get an idea of what it's like. Don't expect anything like the movie that came out with Sam Rockwell. My set is copywritten 1981 and yeah, it's def early 80's. In a great way. I don't think it was anything they had a huge budget for but it's a great watch.
It's got that Red Dwarf feel if you've ever seen that, another show I love. It follows the book more than the movie so if you haven't read the book there will be quite a few scenes you may not be familiar with. One thing I love about it is there are way more guide entries and some pretty funny ones too.
I don't want to spoil it for anyone so I won't give away a whole bunch of stuff but Zaphods second head is a real treat
So if you've never seen it and are a fan, look it up. If you like british comedy and like old 80's special effects give it watch.
