home prices

what do you guys think of the recent boom and bust with home prices? how bad has it affected your guys area? Ive seen some crappy homes
in crappy neighborhoods spike up two times in value about a year or so ago...

The home I live in had cost below $300k when I moved in. Now it's estamated to be somewhere in the $600k range. I would, if the house was completely paid for, think of it as potential income.

well...all i got to say is if im planning to get one of my own around here i better get a better paying job....they range from a quarter mil. and up... :(

Doesn't really affect me at this time. I didn't know anything about this. Guess with all things costs will go up.

Hope is coming back. About a year ago, the median house price in and around Eugene was $400,000, now it's dropped down to around half that. Bad for Oregon because the other big industry here (aside from small business) is construction. But, good for Oregon because housing prices are within reach of the average person again.

I just saw a SWEET piece of property out in Noti (about 30 miles west of here). Almost ten acres, two trout-stocked ponds, barn and pastures, 2-bed 2-bath house with bonus room, an orchard, vinyard and a Christmas tree farm, going for $309,000.
