National Transportation Safety Board investigators are in New York trying to determine what caused a small plane to crash into a high-rise apartment building in Manhattan on Wednesday. The crash killed New York Yankees pitcher Cory Lidle and another person, believed to be Lidle's flight instructor.
Now people are scared for terrorist attacks once again

Just six blocks away from my home too. I actually went to the building right next door to it for some work stuff today (had a hard time crossing the police line).

Apperently, a maid saw the airplane comming and got her employer out of the room that was hit by the plan. She was burned by the fire, but is doing ok.
NEW YORK (AP) -- A woman in a high-rise apartment hit by New York Yankee Cory Lidle's plane survived after her housekeeper saw the aircraft coming and rushed in from another room to get her out, a relative of the resident said Thursday.

I think he was just learning or something (he had his flight instructor with him), and lost control of the plane or something. I saw the building, several stories of the north side were covered in soot.

Just watch. I'd bet good money that FAA will bow to public pressure to add all kinds of new airspace restrictions. Never mind that if a terrorist really wanted to load up a plane with explosives and run it into the UN headquarters or something, no space restriction in the world would allow enough time to figure out something was wrong. They've got a HUGE restriction around D.C. and the Air National Guard is still just barely able to intercept low-and-slow cessnas that stray.
I'm watching CNN and all anyone can talk about is how they need to get rid of all private VFR traffic around big cities. If they (the terrorists) want to blow something up, they will most likely use a ground vehicle. Why? Because a small private plane cannot carry much in the way of explosives. Back in the 80s, some lunatic tried to play kamikaze into the White House with a cessna and the thing just splattered against the place like a bug on a windshield.
