Windows movie maker 2 help

Post by Shadow Wulf »

For some reason I cant import most of the videos I have on my computer. :(

I cant change any options like I did with windows movie maker 1.1.
I should have just stayed with 1.1, atleast I could import all the movies there. Can anyone help me? :(

my only advice is to switch to a mac. they come out of the box with imovie, one of the most useful movie editing programs i've ever seen, and i've seen kind of a lot.

OH! one more thing, actually. windows SUCK! :PC:

what file type you got on the movies?

Depends on what you're looking at. I've found that there are some utilities that Windows has that a Mac doesn't. Same for vice versa.
It all depends on what you're looking for.

(and yes i do prefer macs)

ShadowWulf
have you tried to revert to 1.1?
I don't really know how to revert, but if more people are having this problem, someone somewhere probobly has made a 3rd party app that will revert it. Thats all i have really i am not used to this problem accept with certain types of M-PEG files that dont import sound

I guess you can always try Jahshaka, an open-source real-time editing and effects system. Some say that it is like an open-source version of Adobe After Affects. However, I haven't tried it because I'm more of a 3d animation kind of guy.

Here is the link...

I hope that I have helped you in some way.

I don't have any useful advice on this subject as I have been having the same problem but have not found the solution yet.

There is something fundamentally flawed with the newest version of that program. It refuses to import more than half the video files I want to use with it, and when it crashes, it doesn't just crash the program...the whole computer locks up, and occasionally goes to the "blue screen of death".

If you find a way to re-install the older, more functional version, or find another free program that works better, please let me know.

Well I found out the problem, it just so happens that even though movie maker should import it according to the list but theres different versions of the files. You have to download an windows media encoder.

Vuldari - I did mention jahshaka for video editing. It is open-source software, so it is free for you to use and whatnot.

Ya I can understand where you are comming from. The thing about all Open-Source apllications is that their graphical user interface is a bit... unorthodox.

Despite its functionality, I understand that because it is totally unlike mainstream software, it is difficult to to get anything done. Did you read its tutorials? If so, were they also cryptic?

I really hope I didn't dissapoint you shadow Wulf.

Thanks...downloading it now.

I can't stand the WMM program, and I've had great luck with Open-Source software in the past (like GIMP, etc.), so I appreciate the heads-up.

Do I have to register? Ive already downloaded, but what does registering do?

EDIT: yeah this is pretty complex.
And plus the program keeps freezing on me when I try to load something. not the one on the desktop section but other load buttons.

I'm done with WMM and turn myself to imovie for pc named ShowBIz, I love the rich video formats it support editing and outputting. Also, the customized editing functions are amazing!
