Back to the Future is awesome, but I'm going with The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. Probably the most badass movie of all time.

Ahh yes Raiders of the Lost Ark. That movie paved away the road for action movies.

1. First movie ever to have action in the beggining of the movie.
2. Most action packed movie of its time.

I'm not sure how much action you need for a movie to have action in the beginning, but Goldfinger starts with Bond blowing some stuff up, and then fighting a guy and throwing him into a bathtub along with a fan so the guy gets electrocuted. The Spy Who Loved Me opens with this. Not to undermine the beginning to Raiders of the Lost Ark, however, because that has one of the best openings of all time.

Original StarWars Trilogy. (minus "Special Edition" meddling)

I will never love another movie more than I have adored those three.

WOW! I can't pick just 1.....

The Big Lebowski
The Crow
Highlander
Baise Moi
Chopper
City of God
Sleepy Hollow
O' brother where art thou?
3000 Miles to Graceland
Romper Stomper
Gremlins
An American Werewolf in London(I know it's not a 'were' thread but this is up with my faves).

I think thats the cream of 'em. Although I could go and on...

Well yes a couple of bond movies did start off with action in the beggining but not as good as raiders of the lost ark, and on top of that the beggining action sequence in alot of the old bond movies quickly dies out and you dont really see alot of action untill the very end.

Ye Gods...I have to choose ONE?!?

Nope, can't do it. Here's my top ten list, at least of this moment. In no particular order:

Baraka
Hellraiser II: Hellbound
Fifth Element
Disney's Sleeping Beauty
Dr. Caligari (the 1980s remake)
Ladyhawke
The Fountain
Company of Wolves
Fantasia
and the X-Rated Alice in Wonderland

And that's with the brakes put on severely. My alltime favourite movies list numbers in the three digits.

Hmmm... X-rated Alice in Wonderland? I tried looking this up, and came up with either this, which was given an M rating in Australia (doubt this is it, M sounds too tame), or this, which appears to be an odd porn film based on the (extensively positive) reviews (four of which are written by forum regulars from the Horror board at IMDb), but is given an X rating in America. If it's the latter, I'd like to point out that Through the Looking Glass is the sequel to Alice in Wonderland, not the original.

Am I right with either of those?

Nope, the movie I'm referring to was shot in the early '70s and was actually a comedy. I'm not the world's biggest porno fan (for the lack of good quality material and filmwrighting, not for the decency concerns), but it was shot well, there was actually a plot, and some really funny lines.

For instance, Alice asks the Mad Hatter if that's the size of his hat, and he says, "Heavens, no! That's the size of my thingamajig!" and drops trou. She says it's very nice and he says "You may touch it." She says, "I can't!" "Why not?" "Because it's yours!" "I'll SHARE it with you!"

Uhmm, yeah. Not great cinema. But better than the standard fare in porno. Pretty much everyone in the movie got laid, except for, wait for it...the White Rabbit.

Oh, you're referring to this. Not sure why I didn't mention that one, even though I saw it listed.

I have a HUGE list at Netflix of movies I love - I have no favorites amongst that 1000 or so.

I like older movies from 1920's - 1960's. Plus the occasional classy stuff that came out thereafter. Most modern stuff is ill acting.

As far as 'favorite movie' - I'll go shallow and awful right now but the best movie in it's genre came out recently:

Pirates

Starring Carmen Luvana, Jesse Jane, Devon, Evan Stone, Teagan Presley, Jenaveve Jolie, Austyn Moore, Steven St. Croix, Tommy Gunn

If you're underage or at work, don't Google it. This is not for Pirates of the Caribbean fanbodies but for honest adults looking for an honestly adult movie.

If you're over 18, or 21 in some areas, and want to watch 'adult entertainment' that you can watch from the beginning to end - this is the movie.

I say that with utmost sincerity to the adult industry and viewers out there who believe in its capability of putting out quality material to get on, or off, with - they put out so much bad stuff though I was beginning to think it impossible. At least this was a full budgeted ordeal with more erotic back into human sexuality.

For it's genre, I was impressed.
