Sin City question

Post by Alpha »

Was the 'Kevin' character (Elijah Wood) supposed to be a werewolf? He hung around with a real wolf, ate human flesh and when he fought Marv, he had incredible leaping abilities. He also sliced him up pretty good with claws.

Just wondering. :?

Hobbit: the Other White Meat

They never said so or directly showed it, but, hmm... probably used werewolf symbolism in the movie (full moon, claws, a wolf companion, etc.) to depict him as a monster. (Remember that non-therians still think of werewolves as monsters first.)
Taking a Gestalt approach, since it's the "in" thing...

I'm not a therian and I don't think of them as "MONSTERS" first, (besides recognising that it is part of the Classic monster trio; Dracula, The Mummy and the Wolf-Man), but I know what you mean. :|

How odd, when I saw Sin City, I too associated Kevin with a werewolf. The moon and the wolf were what made me consider it. I think, though, when you get down to it, he wasn't a werewolf -- Just some really f'ed up guy!

I didn't grab the werewolf symbolism from him. Something more demonic in nature - probably because of his work and relation to the Bishop.

had to reply to this... big Sin City fan, both of the comic and the new movie.

Kevin was freaking sweet. wasn't a werewolf, was just a cannibal, but both the comic and the movie used the imagery of the full moon and his having a "wolf pet" to make him more animalistic.

in short, the hottest i've ever seen that hobbit Elijah Woods.

I'm a non-Therian. I don't think of them as monsters.

I'm an old fashioned werewolf fan. Not a werewolf horror fan.

Sure did make wolves seem bad, again in a movie.
