This is a six-minute section of wolves howling back and forth to a coyote pack. The alpha female was coming into heat and some coyotes had been sniffing around the edges of their territory so they really get going.
Beautiful passages and entrancing voices. Eerie and splendid, wolfsong at its best. It takes awhile to download, with a file this long, but do wait, it's very worth it.

I have actually had the fortune of hearing wolves live! It was during their mating season so they all were kinda... excited

One thing I always did like about wolves is their howls. Sounds very pretty.

Hmmm... I might be able to use this.
It's going right into my Sound FX folders. It's hard to find clean sounds such as these. Great find!

Its pretty funny because a fire engine was going by as I was listening to that so I heard sirens and howling.

On the same site they have a Baron (alpha male) giving a confrontational howl. It's *scary*, it sounds like a very bass, very angry tomcat yowling. It was even wilder played backwards, there was one point where he ululated like a siren.
