Fruit Smoothies

Alright peoples, post your combinations up here!

Fruit smoothies ... i.e. fruit and icecream, fruit and yogurt, fruit and...fruit. Fruit and vodka, or any other booze. Fruit! As in fresh fruit.

-Drools-

I could do with some smoothie ideas. Although I have lots, I like to have plenty to make. To do in my very old milk shake maker or buy another blender, not quite sure yet...might save me cutting the fruit up too finely.

Throw them at me!

YUM!! Thanks guys!!

Now, that I have some more recipes to add, I need to buy a blender. Ill copy these to a file and keep them there. Im needing more stuff to eat. Getting sick of my usual stuff and I love smoothies, and if I can buy the right machine they will be easy to make.

Funny you'd both mention lime, we got some free the other day from a friend. I add them to my lemon lime bitters sometimes. I know, I know, it has lime already. But oh well

I discovered my new fave among blended drinks. The Mint Chocholte Chip Malt! There's a blended drink I can't get enough of.

I used to work at a forzen yogert shop when I was like, 16, so I picked up on a lot of nifty recipes. I typically will make a strawberry bannana smoothie, or a peanut butter chocholate blast. I'm exhausting the household blender for sure.
:D

You guys just made me hungry, again.

Your not alone in that regard WP. I'm trying to never get drunk again for similar reasons. One hangover from hell is one too many.

-EVERY- post I make ends up with alcohol!!! It's amazingly hilarious.

Hahaahah!!! I've been drunk so much this weekend, people are worrying. A bottle of sparklies each...and no hangover for me! Plus half a bottle of vodka the other night.

As for a blender...I finally bought one. Since fruit is out of season, I was very lucky to get my paws on bananas and strawberries, and I can buy some frozen fruit.

So I can try these recipes!

Ice, strawberries, a couple peeled peaches, a half-cup of white grape juice, honey naturally, 4 oz. of complimentary-flavour yoghurt and a dash of pear essence. Blend until smoothe.

Sometimes I put the protein powder in but it's hard to find one that tastes okay :P

We have a coffee shack around here called Dutch Brothers. They put lowfat ice cream base in their smoothies.

Around here we have a chain called "Jamba Juice" that does smoothies.
They put bananna in every drink except the Alfalfa one.
And I am so-o-o allergic to bananna.... :sneeze:

These recipes have given me an idea for Smoothies that I can maybe drink...instead of...

We got a Jamba Juice up here, too.

Alfalfa! Uck! I can't think of a dumber ingredient. The horse is more than welcome to it... :P

Forget it. Just get one of those smoothie machines from the five-and-dime, go to the market in the morning, and make your own just the way you want. At the rate I scarf those babies down, it'd pay for itself in a week...

I already have a blender, which makes nice smoothies.
Try some Orange Juice, Pineapple crushed stuff, some cranberries, and a tbs of Protein powder (Albumin or Soy). Add some ice and mix-Great!
The cranberrys cut the sweetness a bit and color up the suff.

If you want to get decadent; find some Malt powder to add in with the Protein powder...almost a Julius... lck

I can tell you what the Julius is.

Fruit juice, with vanilla pudding powder added.

I used to know someone who worked there.

But the orange-cranberry smoothie sounds luscious, as always :)

What ever you guys do, don't use frozen fruit. Atlanta Bread(eatery/coffee shop) does it and it tastes disgusting. Never, EVER do it. Use the fresh stuff.

My combo is whey protein, banana, three scoops of Friendly's ice cream, three strawberries, fifteen blueberries, some grapes and one properly ripened kiwi fruit. Mix and serve! But don't add alcohol. It's like a Chucky Cheese's cheese pizza. You're ruin it if you add anything more than the cheese.

Thank-you! That is something I will try, since the last Julius place around here closed recently.
And I love the stuff. lck
