I'm a HUGE Nintendo fan, and I've never even played the game.
(And yet, I can name at least a few of the characters, though I'm not sure why)

Well, it's japanese-manufactured, so no bias from me.
I'll watch it if my local internet cafe ever even puts it in the movies drive.

Now, although I do like animal crossing, I can't see why you'd make an anime/movie about it.... asside from the uber cuteness factor. There are a tons different Nintendo games that I would prefer being made into a film *coughmetroidcough*
Wonder if someone's going to port it over and translate it

I don't know... Animal Crossing doesn't seem to have any type of plot that would even be plausible for a movie script. They're probably doing this because of the “cuteness” factor that Kiri-Ryu mentioned.
Then again, I haven't ever played Animal Crossing; therefore, I am in no position to wage any type of criticism. I'm saying this merely because of how it appears.

its just a movie for little kids, might as well be a Hamtaro movie. No reason for anyone here to care I might imagine.
Just like the bratz movie coming out here, take something popular with kids, make it a movie, make money.
its made for little kids so any of us not likeing it doesn't matter because we are not the demographic they are targeting.
its not like they took Devil May Cry and made it a chibi anime with flowers instead of weapons.

was it the one where Mario also had Donkey Kong on it as one of the bad guys?
If it is then it also went to germany and/or Korea.
