I've never read the books... Are they good? It seems pretty original, though somewhat Narnia-esque.
And as for Narnia, I never thought that the Christian allegory was that over-the-head-beatingly obvious. To be fair, though, the only time I really read the books was in the fifth grade, and I have to say that I was a mind-bogglingly stupid kid. I liked Pokemon... Ick. Anyway, I read about the allegory later, but honestly, I still don't see it that much. In fact, aside from a lot of the stuff Aslan does, I really don't see it at all.
I'm not starting a debate, am I?

Well it takes two to tango and I'm in agreement with you. Narnia is pretty subtle about it until you get to the last two books. And let's just say that now, everyone's saying "Talking Animals = Narnia." Something I don't necessarily agree with.
I plead guilty to reducing a movie to soundbites, argh!
Anyway...I haven't read the books yet. Nor have I heard of them, but that's okay. Films and books are different media and needn't necessarily spoil each other. But given Hollywood's track record I'm probably wiser for not having read the books first. I was disappointed with the way they did the CoN movie because I read and loved the book; I didn't move it through the Dune books and liked the movie. Go figure.
Anyway...there's a cool feature on the website that gives you a quiz and determines your...well, they call them Daemons, but I call a spade a spade, it's a totem. I took the test and initially got Ocelot, but retook it and came up with a Tiger. Yeah...that works

Did a search through this folder...didn't see anything for four pages, so I assumed nobody had gotten it yet. Thanks for the merge, Kaebora
Okay, so my Daemon hunt was interesting. First I got a chimpanzee (!)
Ahhm, no. Don't like chimps. They're foul, noisier than dogs and vicious. Then I retook it and got a male ocelot named Romulus. Then I said, "Okay, like ocelots, we'll save it." I posted the "do your friends agree?" code to my Myspace, retook it and got a Tiger named Romulus.
I *do* like tigers. I had a tiger spirit appear to me when I was getting my last tattoo. Tiger's like a wolf pack bundled up in one critter, beautifully Shaivite beasts the both of 'em.

Wolf daemons are prominent in the book, but you're not going to like it. They were predominantly the daemons of the Tartars, so they're predominantly defined by bloodlust.Silverclaw wrote:Took it again; and got Sirion, a male fox.
Wonder if their is a wolf one?
edit: Bleh, took it a 4th time, just to see, and got a completely different one. A Snow leopard named Aeschyes
And I'm so peeved about getting the monkey because the only one featured in the book was the companion of the bitchy backstabbing antagonist. That is so not me.
EDIT:
I tried it again with only some slight changes (instead of "disagree," I said "strongly disagree" on two of them) and got this instead:
Much better.

Yeah, that seems to be the way they work... first they get your opinion on things, then ask questions of people who click on your link based on how they see you. I tried this a while back... my daemon started off as an ocelot and cycled through a ladybird, a spider and a bird of some description (maybe a hawk?) before settling in as a spider.

My daemon is a male snow leopard by the name of Inachus.
EDIT: Here's the webpage, though I can't take a screenshot. My computer won't let me.

I took this quiz a looooong time ago and got a male lion named Aeschylus. He's very majestic .
Anyway, did any of you guys actually watch this movie? I really liked it. It did piss me off a lot that the people with wolf demons were always vicious and the people with domesticated dogs as their demons were always servants. That's bullshit.
LOL, way to resurrect an old thread, Renorei.
