I just wanted to let everyone know that I'll be a recruiter later this year. Any suggestions as to which recruiting office I should request?

I think Hawaii would be an obvious choice. Bet it's a longshot though.
Which branch of the military? I haven't been paying attention.
Veteran of the USAF here.

I'm SGT in the US Army, with six years TIS. Hawaii doesn't sound bad... I lived on Molokai back in the 80s.

OOoooo! Molokai! Mooolook-ai!
OK. I don't know what the hell I'm talking about. I even had to google Molokai, to make sure we were still talking about Hawaii! But I likes the way it sounds.
If you've done the tropical thing already, how about Anchorage? I hear the weather's nice this time of year.
I attended a recruiter recruitment(?) once. Err.. I think I did it to avoid work. Anyways, they were needing E-5's. I never made it past E-4 in my 9+ years in.

That's ok, in the Air Force. In the Army, I'm way behind, getting my E-5 just under the six year mark (both the promotion and anniversary took place in the same month).
But, the recruiting job will be nice. While I'd go back to Iraq, if my unit deployed with no qualms, I'd rather be able to wait a couple years and see if it's a little calmer before I return to the sandbox once again.

If you go to Fort Bragg, you'd be an hour from us ;)

Jakkal, I can go to any city with a recruiting station. I'm not limited to forts anymore in my assignments.

So true. One of the things that attracted me to the recruiter program was that I could stay in the Air Force,
andbe back home!
On a side note: Even though it was pre-Desert Storm; I never did enjoy TDY trips to Saudi Arabia. First time or two was cool because it was so different, but after the sixth time, I was pretty sick of it.

Aye to that. That was like me going TDY from Germany to France (between '99 and '03). Some of the missions we did there were awesome (such as raising the US flag on international TV at the Memorial Day observance at Omaha Beach). That was just cool.
But, the last several were less, and less extraordinary, and they usually took place over long weekends. When we no longer got comp time (effectively losing some weekends altogether), I got kinda disenheartened.
Someday, I'll have to write some memoirs, and in light of the recruiting deal I got, I'll have to update my
Military Bio. Crud, I just realized that one of the flash animations on my website is no longer working... (I'll fix it tomorrow).

You should ask for Alaska to increase you chances of being bitten by a stray werewolf, of course!
