I STILL have no idea whats attacking the city. But from the looks of the trailer....I'd say its a big monster.

Go to this page to view the trailer.

Now.....look at the Statue of Liberty once you get to the page. Does that look like claw marks on the back?

My vote goes for giant monster or alien thing. >_>

Looks like one helluva movie.

Well, yes, it's been definitely a monster since the beginning, Abrams has said that, even though he's said nothing else. I've actually given up on information for this movie. It took him way too damn long to even give us the title, and it turned out to be Cloverfield. CLOVERFIELD, FOR GOD'S SAKE! I lost interest awhile back, but the fact that they made a big deal out of a name most people already associated with the movie is ridiculous, and besides being a confirmation of the title, the trailer gives no new information. I mean, crap, it's less than two months away, say something, Abrams.

It had better be good. Not sure I like the Blair Witch style filming, though.

I've been following the progress of this movie for awhile now (there are so many blogs and websites for it). After seeing the latest trailer, I am so hyped! Definitely seeing this one when it comes out.

Oh yeah I saw this trailer. It looks almost home made or like a document with all the camera movement.

Well, i hope the Monster is Cthuulu as has been rumored. Though it's not likely as if it was him, he'd probably be appearing in MAssachusetts somewhere.

Abrams said it was something new... Giving even less reason to be so secretive.

Meh, I still think a film based on Cthuulu re-awakenign in modern times would be a great idea. And the hero should be black, just to make HP Lovecraft roll in his grave (Because it's a well-known fact that Lovecraft was a racist bastard).

Oh, definitely. Cthulhu was always a crazy bastard of a character. It would be a lot more psychological than this if it were faithful, though.

What, are you trying to say that Nigger-man is not a good name for a cat? :P But yeah, Lovecraft was pretty damn racist, and it shows up in his writing every now and then, serving no real point other than to make that section of the story awkward.

Still, spiting every dead racist would take an overly long amount of time, no matter how deserved it is. If the actor deserved the part, though, that would be fine.

I personally can't wait to see Cloverfield. While the concept of a giant monster attacking a famous city is ages old, the whole knew take on it is fantastic. The mixing of CGI with live action video is just amazing. It looks a LOT better than Godzilla 98. As for the title... I'm betting that closer to launch the title will change. The whole thing about this movie is keeping as much as possible secret, while showing enough tidbits to keep people interested. I think that Cloverfield, even though he stated it is the title, is NOT the real title, but a diversion to not give anything away.

Who knows... for all we know it could be Godzilla 2... :P

Hey, I am a fan of monster movies of any kind, so even if it turns out to be somewhat cliche, I am still likely to go see it, or at least rent.

Fleeting glimpse of Cloverfield monster from the trailer. (in slow-mo)
Still hard to tell what it is. But it is bipedal and vaguely reptilian. Looks pretty much like a godzilla flick to me...

There are some as-yet-insubstantiated rumors that this is going to be it:

Some sort of mutant whale with mutant parasites...

What, I don't think it's that bad. It actually looks pretty cool though.

Looks pretty cool. But it looks kind of like a knockoff of the American Godzilla.
