Eternal Darkness

Under the dark night sky the trees lit by the moon swaying in the wind
the earth as silent as space the sound of running water as Gradamire laps it up. With his family gone off hunting he stood there alone looking into the water. The peace meant nothing to him except for the images from his dream of a den of dead corpses laying in puddles of blood. Gradamire looked away from the stream only to stare into darkness as far as the eye can see

Gradamire begins to wonder what it would be like beyond the darkness of eternal night. With this pondering his mind he heard rustling behind him in the bushes “Who's there” he asked baring his fangs. The rustling continued and out came a rabbit happily hopping along. Oh sweet dinner he thought. He ran after the rabbit and caught it between his jowls.
With his hunger satisfied he lied down to sleep wondering if he'll ever see another wolf again.

He hadn't been asleep for more than an hour when his ears picked up the sound of something big and quick crunching thru the forest, by that he had awoken and was ready for anything. For a second he thought he was seeing things but then he began to feel happy and unsure at the same time, what he saw was two yellow glowing orbs reflecting right back at him. then all at once it was infront of him. "Hello" growled the new wolf that he didn't know "weird i thought i was smelling things" joked the wolf, "the names Rafael" extending a paw in a friendly matter.

Gradamires the name Graddy for short.

"Hi Graddy, You can call me Raf for short. It will make less use of your tounge that way" Joked the only wolf Gradamire has seen in quite some time. "Why if i may ask are you sleeping in the middle of no where with noone to keep you company?" Asked the newly puzzled wolf.

Rafael sits down in front of Gradamire before talking again "Must be lonely to be the last, hopefully not the last of a strong bloodline" Rafael says now in a more concerned tone. "You know what forget i asked, Hey on my way here i caught the scent of strong healthy Elk just up the vally" He says to change the subject.

"You must be a mind reader" Jokes Rafael and dashes ahead of Gradamire.

Gradamire runs faster than rafael

The two compete in a race that doesn't exist for up to fifteen miles till they come to what looks like an easy kill.

Your welcome now have at it. he says as he laughs a beastial laugh that thunders thru the woods.

Gradamire gorges himslef upon the kill splattering blood onto his muzzle.

"you seem to like to suckle that part of the deer a bit too long my brother" Rafael jokes as he keeps watch for any sign for hunters.

Gradamire lifts his muzzle from the kill and begins to have a feeling that they are being watched. do you sense brother? gradamire asked rasphel

Yes we mustn't stray here too long" Rafael sniffs the cold air "they are three ridges to the west of us" Rafael takes a chance and howls louder than the roaring winds, as luck would have it he was aswerd in turn from the East. "We head north east, who ever aswerd us will find us when we have gone as far as needed" Rafael says with asurence and ergentcy in his voice.

Gradamire bent on all fours and began to pant awaiting the chance to race Rafael towards the east as where to great

Rafael Bolts North-East with Gradamire not too far in toe. "Grady, Keep alert i feel like we may have some unexpected visiters if were not too careful" Rafael says as he takes a quick look back.

[Nekko]

Nekko lay in the lower branches of a tree, his striped tail hanging lazily. 'So tired...' He thought. His nose lifted into the air. 'Great, wolves.' He looked around the tree and saw two werewolves running. 'I guess it could be fun to suprise them.' He jumped down on all fours, waited for the two to pass, and followed them from a good distance.

A small, reclusive village sat to the northwest of the wolves' current location. Only a few buildings occupied the center of the settlement; most of which were relatively abandoned. Apparently the village had seen better days. To the eastern section of the village, sat a small tavern. Its windows appeared to be weakly illuminated by some artificial lighting from the structure's inside. A group of men seemed to be standing around the doorway, chattering about the daily events. Each stood dressed in military uniform, showing the presence of more sophisticated settlment in the massive world. One of these men sat leaned against the door's frame. He appeared to be well groomed and have an average body build. His short, brown hair appeared to be perfectly cut.
"So, what's the word from the general?" he asked one of the older men.
"We start moving again tommmorow," the older man responded.
The younger man straightened up and began moving towards the village's edge. His light brown eyes examined the foliage, nervously. The air felt somewhat cool to him. His hand skimmed over the holster that remained attached to his belt. He could feel the sharpened blade through the leather covering. His skin was somewhat pale, yet seemed to show that he had been exposed to the world's natural elements. He released a weak sigh and began moving through the forest.
The sky cast a delicate glow upon the man's face. The crunching beneath his boots began to provide a rhythmic pattern to his ears. The man turned in a northeastern direction and began a slow, steady pace forward. His hand sat rested against his weapon's holster, ready for any attack. But one question remained on his mind. Why was he the one who had to patrol?

Rafael and Gradamire had been running till they could no longer smell the smell of the hunters on the cool midnite air. "Gradi, we can rest for a bit here" He says with an overjoyed tone in his voice. "plus I'm sure by the sound of the forest as we were departing thru it that we may not be alone for too much longer" Rafael smiles while saying so and parks his furry back side on the forest floor.

[Nekko]

Nekko saw the two slow down ahead and decided to duck (ooc, heh duck ^^') back into the denser woods. He heard one of them say "Gradi, we can rest for a bit here." and thought 'What to do, what to do.' Nekko crept closer and accedentally steped on a twig and snaped it. He froze and braced for the worse. 'Dang it! Stupid thoughts making me make stupid mistakes.' He swore to himself.

The man listened as the sounds of the trading village faded into the distance. His pace qickened as he continued towards the Northeast. He lifted one of the flares from his ammo belt. The words on the object's surface seemed to be faded. Within moments the man lit the flare, letting the orange flame illuminate the forest's ground. He leaned against one of the trees and began inspecting his ammo stocks.
