Not sure if creating a convention(that is if it doesn't already exist) would work out for my small town. on the other hand I and another pack member who's name escapes me at the moment, were thinking it would be a interesting way to bring all of us or atleast asmany who'd be able to make it, to a location to get to know eachother better. and to avritise for Brownrigg if he would like. maybe even to bring in more people that would suit well with the pack.

Certainly kudos for the concept. Not sure if I could make it or not myself, depending upon when it is. But, to get a con going in an area that doesn't have one, someone has to start.

Don't expect or try to do a 10,000 person event the first year. It's best to start small, with a few hundred people at the most, and grow over time. Putting on a big convention is expensive and time-consuming; the really huge ones like A-Kon and DragonCon have full-time employees. But, a get-together of a few dozen people can be pulled off by one person and a handful of friends. Try talking with people who have already hosted conventions. I suspect it's a lot less about finding forms of entertainment and more about figuring out how to herd cats.

sounds like a great idea! one that could be done, but like Scott Gardener said, start small.

if it were to happen, I would go, that is if it's at a time when I don't have acting class.

well Lone-wolf and I had an idea of it to put it up at this old factory after awhile where it can later be used to do other things like liveing space and maybe(an idea that came from me) was like an indoor hikeing and rockclimbing area. I was hopeing to get the community together to help restore the place but i have yet to have enough people to pull it off. An ieda that was tossed around was maybe make it a meeting place for members of the pack but not sure how willing some would feel coming to Illinois concidering it is problobly one of the dullest states( Well not including Chicago).

when i turn 18 i wil help out blue i think the idea will be great ill even pitch in to help out where i can i mean i can draw some things for it even advertise for it just give me the time and i will help when im out of school hoping new year 2009

well I'm 15, so if I was going to Public school I'd be in high school.

so, I think so....I think, lol I really don't pay much attention.

Hey cool idea, not sure illinois is the best place for it though...we have a convention center here, and my friend works at the greater vancouver zoo, wouldnt it be cool to have a bigscreen live feed of real wolves? anyway im just daydreaming... if i could come to the states, i'd be there... Go wolfcon!

El Paso has a pretty good convention center....although none of you live very close...O_o

well, in the beginning, we'll have to begin with maybe a picnic setting, but if this can be kept going, we wouldn't mind doing it out of an old factory. problem is cost, and how to build up enough to take on so many. i need to take pictures of the place, so that if by any chance we could get anyone to help out, they'd know what needs fixing, cleaning, Decor, and much more if it can be made livable. a side idea for the place was to make part of it, into living spaces. There is way more than enough room to take on plenty of tenants. but, it will be awhile till this dream can be made real, unless we could get backing for it, as i mentioned earlier.

So to answer your question on who would host it, that would depend on backers and possibly maybe, if at all possible, by the slightest chance, Anthony or any of the packs finest would like to grace my small town with their presents.

i can help but i need to find my closest friend to help me with it no worries i will have help with me hopefully.

I would be so up to helping out with a convention ^_^ im in california we have good convention centers here ^_^ but i rather that one near the wolf shelter ^_^

yes, if i can find a picture of where i'd like it to end up, i'd be able to better show my intentions for the convention. the location is a bit in a need of fixing, and it will take a lot of money to put up to own it, for if it can be owned then we (that is if more than my boyfriend and a few friends help) could turn it into living space for possibly anybody in need of a place to stay at a decent price; while downstairs can still house any convention needs. I hope if we can get this going, that we may turn this into something solid that we can continue to do each year.

If nothing else, to get the pack together and finally meet everyone (or at least some of them)
