The issue of holes in pants

Something must be done with this! Sill tail, popping and ripping the the back-side of the pants during transformation!

Why does a werewolf have to be nekkid tho? XP

Can't we at least travel with boxer shorts? XD

You could cut a hole in the back of your pants to allow your tail to comfortably sip out. This however carries the disadvantage of having a giant hole in your pants. Take Mat's idea and just velcro it shut when you're a human I guess.

Or you could wear those ultra low pants that only go up to your hips... you'd probably need braces to keep them up (I have no idea how people wearing those pants manage to stop them obeying the laws of gravity) but that way your tail would just hang over the top of them.

My sentiments exactly.

Matt: I think that velcro would do more damage to the fur than good, so, i don't think it's a good idea.

Anyway, here's something that might help with this predicament:

Forget throwing away your pants, this will save you $400+ on expensive threads.

Yup. Cloth-ripping is so old-fashion.

If the tail's doing what it's supposed to, then it shouldn't be visible... 8)

I have a pair of dorm pants that, after some four or five years of use, ripped right in the back. They're still comfortable, so now I wear them as long underwear.

A werewolf could do the same: wear their "werewolf" pants underneath their "human" pants and take the latter off before shifting.

Do people even wear spandex any more for working out? If no, I'm glad it's out. Could you imagine a werewolf in spandex? Sure, the cloths will stretch but jeez!

I think the special pants for that special time of the month is needed. But what should we call these threads for werewolves?

Tail bails?

Stub buds?
Period panties?

Eh. I say we just call them mooners. :D

What the hell is so difficult about pulling your pants down when transforming? Its not as if you care even slightly about what people might think about your genitals anyway at such a moment...

True, but you have to realize that there are people who contrast what you're saying. I think i can imagine a child molestation victim having a difficult time getting naked for such an occasion because the trauma hit that hard.

This has been discussed before.

My favorite idea was backward boxers. But honestly, if someone was a werewolf and could not control the shifts, he would figure out pretty quick to wear loose pants. Then the tail just goes down a pant leg.

You're far more likely to have a problem with seams in your shirt ripping apart as muscle mass shifts proportion for the gestalt (and then only if it's a rather tight-fitting one) than to have your pants rip out because a tail sprouts. Pants are made from -tough- stuff. And I don't even mean just jeans—my cargo pants may not be as rugged as denim jeans, but it takes a heck of a lot to damage them. Tail's more likely to force its way down your leg (or over the waistband if you're of the Droopy Drawers persuasion...wear a belt, geez :p)

That's assuming its more like a feline's tail as opposed to the stiff canine variety. Maybe you could wear short shorts and the tail would go out one of the leg holes, but I don't think it would bend down completely with long pants. Maybe a werecat could get away with that, but a werewolf might find that uncomfortable at best.

A canine tail can curl down underneath to cover its owner's belly. With a few exceptions, but those are such overbred yappy little breeds, no self respecting werewolf would have a tail like that ;) It only has to go straight down one's bum and to one side to go down a pant leg. Flexibility is not even close to being an issue.

Werewolves also tend to lose several inches in waist measurement when they shift. Add in that wolves don't have hips in the human sense, and a problem immediately becomes apparent:

How is a Werewolf going to frighten anyone if his pants are down around his ankles? (although that does take care of the tail problem...)

Suspenders (or Braces for the Brits.) would keep the Werewolf's pants around his waist as well as providing enough "give" for the tail. Werewolves do have shoulders, fortunately.

That depends on "what" werewolf though.

On a funny note, I've seen some weird werewolf TF sequences that rips everything but the boxers. XD

Isn't there an ad out there somewhere about underwear with tail openings?

In stories, they're just boxers worn backwards. IRL, thsy are either semi-chastity belts for non-spayed females, or diapers/nappies for older, "leaky" animals.

There is no reason for "tail vented" underwear for humans...and no Werewolf would be caught dead buying them if there were. Remember: "Secret?". Any Werewolf dumb enough to buy "tail vented" underwear would probably also use a credit/debit card to pay for them.
