A Dallas area release party seems likely, given that the Brownriggs and Cashell, as well as ReQuest, are housed in that area and regulars at Mary Clark's conventions (A-Kon, CageCon, etc.)

I'd certainly go, as long as it wasn't another last minute notice thing like the Cage was.

hey, i'd LOVE a party. but being a full-time college student kinda leaves me monyless to actually go anywhere TT-TT
if there's a party hee, i'll likely go, otherwise i'm screwed as to going to it.

meh... i hate social gatherings. any special event i'd go to would have to be:
a)local
b)cheap

not that i wouldn't want to meet any of you, its just... er... yea. I'm a cheap, lazy, antisocial a-hole. :D

Hey, I'm all for being anti-social, but this is Freeborn we're talking about! :) (and I'm just lucky enough to have a friend in Dallas I can stay with because it's a 7 hour drive for me)

when will the film be released and where(i.e major theaters; minor theaters; straight to dvd) :? :? :?

It is expected to be in major theaters; or at the very least, minor theaters.
And somewhere around 2008ish.

The budget for the film is 5.8M.. it doesnt sound like much.. but in texas we dont have the studio overhead.. its about the equivalent of a 20-30M in LA.. The budget INCLUDES having be ready for theatrical release IF the distributor decides to do that..

so, upshot.. The film is PLanned for a worldwide theatrical release. But as to what actually 'happens' its out of my hands.. this film has grown so much its not a little flickanymore. Quality counts here though.. I stand by quality over making it 'speedy'

I don't mind how long you guys take to make Freeborn. I'm just antsy for it to get its distributer/financing/whatever so it can offically start. :)

Awww. Man, I take it that it's not premering in the Bay State? Massacussets?

Like I once said before, I'm keeping a savings set aside for the premeire. I'll fly down to Texas from New Mexico for whatever parties and showings Tony might have planned. Better to plan ahead and save up for it now, than be broke and miss out.

what about if the people that live in far off remote states (like MN) could have like one BIG video chat with the people at the premere then the whole pack could "be there" :o

I wish I could go, but international flights are soooo expensive.
Plus my family doesn't know that I like werewolves,my friends know.
I just minimize this site and go to another window with one of my more known to all interests, ocean liners. Hell I just got the courage to ask my dad if he would help me go to A-Kon in 09.

Should Freeborn be released in October of 2008? Because I am not sure that would be a good idea if it did come out on Halloween... This is a new take on the werewolf isn't it? I kinda figured that would be enough of a reason for it to be released on some other month. Would missing that month be a big mistake? I don't know. I have not spent enough time here to know all the aspects of the film. It might be the fact that horror is my least favorite type of film. Anyways I just think it might be a bit predictable to use it on that month. What do you think?

Hi, I'm Phil! I joined this forum like two years ago, but upon getting a new computer and school and stuff, this is the first time in a long time I've been on, I used to be Pjax I believe

N E ways, I can't wait to see this film, I hope it's released soon! I live in Texas, so if it has a premiere in, like, Hollywood...I wouldn't mind driving all the way overthere for it!!!

hahaha

I'm just wondering if this film is really going to happen... The actual web page for the movie has disapeared and has some page saying the domain is up for sale...wtf?
Anyone else noticed this...

There hasn't been any official updates about Freeborn, but word of mouth has it that location scouting might be taking place.
The popular theory is that it's being kept quiet to avoid souring any negotiations taking place, or that AB doesn't want to spoil the surprise.

Lets just be satisfied with the fact that it's still weighing heavy on his mind. AB wont walk away from this movie. Not after all the time, hard work, and social networking put toward it. It will see delays, but not a cancelation. If he wants to stay hush hush with us regarding details its fine. All I could ever ask for is the occational pop-in to say, "I'm still working on it."

Same here. However, as of right now, we're not even getting that. His last post was in June of 2008 and it was mostly in regards to Red Victoria. Then again, since his joining in 2004 he's only submitted 969 posts.
...So I guess that's a clear signal that he does this "disappearing act" often. It's just a little frustrating that, after a year and a half of absence, I come back to find that there haven't been any new updates regarding Freeborn.
So, how do some of you deal with the frustration/impatients?

Paint our faces with blood, dance around the fire. You know, enjoy ourselves.

I'd hate to put him on the spot by asking him about it. He's not really expected to post here. It is akin to answering fan mail. You can, but you don't have to. If he shows up at A-Kon 20, I'm willing to bet someone will ask him about it regardless.
