I was watching the old '67 version of the planet of the apes last night and they said something about there being no moon in the future. That would freakin suck. What would you do?

well with no moon wouldn't the werewolf not change.

But if you did change I'd still go around doing what i did before.

The moon is actually moving away from the Earth; but we won't be here to see it actually disappear into space, since you're talking about a hundreds of millions of years from now sort of event.

By that time Humanity and Werewolves will have passed onward from the scene either into space or into extinction. Personally, I'm for the "leaving the Earth behind and finding a new planet to screw up," as opposed to the going extinct bit.

We might erect a sort of orbiting monument to ourselves and orbit it in place of the lost moon, though. That would be like us.

I chose to go with "freak out and find someone to attack," but only because I figure that whatever process made the moon go away would have to have set in motion catastrophic effects for life on Earth, and chances are, a violent Armageddon was just about to happen.

In response to your comment Redeye, the move planet of the apes happened almost two thousand years after man's existence. I like your idea Scott because man would have done something to the moon for it to disappear.

Man wouldn't have had to have done something. The moon's orbit really is causing it to slowly spiral away from the Earth.

yeah but at an inch and a half per year. 2000 years...that only adds up to 250 feet.

The Planet of the Apes is not the only movie with no moon, in the remake of the Time Machine the moon gets destroyed and guess by who? US! And the debris falls to Earth destroying it leaving some survivors.

Tht's the thing about the moon being gone in the planet of the apes, they launched Doomsday, a powerful atomic bomb that literally changed the Earth's terrain which the blast must've destroyed the moon. :howl: :oo

Uhhh...Scott...

The moon doesn't have a molten center. It's solid clear through. We found that out on an Apollo mission.

Mind; if some humungous (science-speak for freakin' huge) asteroid hit the moon, there would be molten stuff from the heat of energy transfer at the impact area. Droplets would spray off of Luna.
They would hit Earth, in fact; they have! They're called Tektites: Little bits of Luna that got knocked off and fell to Earth long ago.

Does a werewolf's transformation have to do with the moon? Or is that something Siodmak invented?
If werewolves are affected by the moon, are the affected by tektites?

To answer your question logan, the moon is basicly an energy gatherer and we feed off of that energy. go to www.alphaluna.net and search through there. Leo gives a better explanation of this moon situation. :howl: :oo
