Lets take a vote on who the Council should be The Moderators or The Duckies. Who do you think the Council should be?

The council should be; each Pack member gets 1 vote, each Moderator gets 3 votes, and Anthony gets 10 votes... oh, and each ducky gets 25 votes.

At the risk of asking a question someone's asked somewhere else: why do you think the Pack needs a Council?

My thoughts exactly.

what, exactly, would be the function of said Council?

I'd have to say that hierarchy without purpose will only needlessly divide the group. In my opinion and experience, it could create inflated egos that ruin friendships. It happened once before in another online group. They gave members ranks, and the low leveled ones like myself were subjected to being treated as weak. Not fun. :| It resulted in the group's end.

this is first a foremost and place for anyone to hang out, as soon as we start having ranks, it will probable deter new members and cause unneeded bureaucracy, the current system of moderators handles all the problems just fine, nothing new is needed

We don't need a council or ranks of any kind.

Ranks has already discussed here.

We're just fine the way we are. Polls/votes are the best bet if you want a decision to be made.

In b4 "Councils are for humans" joke. >_>

Let's see: a Council would serve no useful purpose, it would confuse things, it would upset people, and make management of the board almost impossible.

Let's DO it!!!

when i put my vote in, i thought it was a joke, but if i could redo, i'd choose the Elders, even though it's not a choice.

It is a joke, i just felt like putting some question nobody thought of and no this will not deter anybody. And besides we need something fun to talk about besides all the other questions we ask. :howl: :oo

Either that or veto power.

Seriously though, what the hell "Council" are we talking about? Isn't the Pack organized enough as it is?

This forum does not need a 'council'.

It runs perfectly well with the Mods and Admins (they dedicate an awful lot of time tothis place) looking after things and keeping tabs. Any decisions to be made can be decided as said earlier by a pack poll/vote.

Whats the saying...?

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it"

I agree. All a council would be is a small group of super-elite who can decide to kick anyone out if they disagree with their views

I agree with lupine; I don't think a council is really necessary.

I personally think we need a Senate (and identify someone as Palpatine), so that there can be a huge uprising and overthrow it!

Besides, if we do it in a very Star Wars fashion, maybe we can corrupt the minds of the lay Star Wars fans out there on the internet (and have some new blood to sink our teeth into?)

Ok. I must've been staying up too late...

I said it once and i'll say it again, its a 'what if' question, we can ask almost all types of questions and i thought of this because a pack looks up to smoeone or something for help in certaint times so don't take this seriously, really! :howl: :oo

Wow. Old thread. Though my opinions still haven't changed on this subject. It's a social community, so no ruleing party is needed. Just censorship, and that's covered. Protecting our minors from cave-ins. (Yay, puns!)
