What if a werewolf lived in Alaska. Would the moon be full for a month or just change slowly?

All right. Assuming this answer will stay with the rest of the topic once it gets shifted to the right place... sorry, but that's not how the moon works. If the moon is full, it's full everywhere on Earth that it's visible from. If you're in Alaska, then the moon will just carry on its usual cycles no matter if you've got the midday darkness or the midnight sun, or anything in between.

So, a werewolf in Alaska (if said werewolf was moon-dependent) would be a wolf when the moon was full, as usual... and bloody cold the rest of the time...

Vampires on the other hand....that's different.

Huh... never expected a thirty days of night reference here... then again, we are allowed to like movies other than werewolf based, aren't we?

As to that, no moon-based werewolf would move to alaska, and if they have to... crap, they're screwed...

I think that would be better to be in Alaska and be a werewolf (besides the cold) because of the lack of people and the expanse of wilderness and the avilible game.

Plus the soul crushing solitude

Look: In the Arctic Circle, it's possible to have the sun shining for 24 hours a day because of the Earth's axial tilt.

The Moon has its own agenda, and its own orbit. It will appear to rise and set without respect for the sun.

Hence: You get three 24-hour periods wherein the Moon will appear "full" as well as three 24-hour periods when the moon will not be visible, as in "New Moon"...just like everywhere else. What you will never get is a full solar eclipse... again due to the Earth's axial tilt.

But would a werewolf transform when there's a full moon out AND it's still daylight? In the movies the moon always sets before the sun rises, but that's not always the case. Would a werewolf transform in the evening or still be a werewolf in the morning when the moon's still out?

That would depend on the Wulf, I'll bet. The main reason that Werewolves do the Shift thing during the full moon is the light. To them it's like a moderately overcast day, while the humans can't see a thing.

When people like to hunt you and shoot you with silver bullets, any advantage is a good advantage.

Now, if someone in Alaska dropped their drawers and "mooned" a Werewolf; would that Werewolf shift or not?
See, I can stay on subject and get silly at the same time!
