Re: A-Kon 20
Whelp, passport application got rejected, and even if I do mail in a new one, which I can't since they didn't return the documents I need to verify my identity. Even if I did mail in a new application there's about zero chance of it arriving in time. So, no A-Kon for me.
Imma go kick some a** down at the guv'ment office.

Re: A-Kon 20
Sorry to hear that WM. Would've been fun to have you there.
Whats the plan on scheduled Pack events? Any particular convention events we might go to as a group? Any rooms we can use as a place to gather once or twice?

Re: A-Kon 20
Well since Wingman can't go and Sabre is still up in the air, me and Daniel will probably be staying at the Fairfield again. To be honest, I liked it better than the AM, it just makes it near impossible to fursuit. Since it's not within walking distance. I might not even bother bringing my full suit. I may just bring my new head, Taffy in a backpack or something.

Ok, since Wingman wasn't able to get his passport me, my mate, and Joker have room for one more in our hotel room if anybody needs a spot.

Ok, looks like me, my mate, and Joker won't be there. We can't afford to split the room only three ways. -_-

Re: A-Kon 20
Nuuuuu! They're dropping like flies! The A-Kon Pack gathering is getting ever so smaller.
Edit: Hey, when and where are we all meeting? Will it be Thursday evening in a hotel room like last time, or on a Friday or Saturday?

I'm still going!
We could meet Thursday night? Say, around 9? I can offer my room, but I won't know a room number until Thursday a little after three.

Sabre/Joker, PariahPoet and her mate, we'll miss you. Maybe next year the economic recovery will be in full swing, and we'll get to see more of each other.
For those who are coming, it's only two days left. It's hard to believe right now; today feels so normal.

Re: A-Kon 20
Ok so i guess we all IM you for your cell number then. Is it the same as the years previous? I'm not sure what I'm doing Thursday night, but I'll come on down. The Pack is just one of two groups that I want to visit with, so I have to figure out what they're doing. I can't miss the Pack meeting though.

Re: A-Kon 20
I have an Intercontinental Ballistic Duckie, with Anthony Brownrigg as the primary target. We'll get our update.
I'm also aiming for a Pack gathering in my room Thursday night. I'll have a place when I know what that place is. I'll have a time once I know what my other parties--my sister, other family members, and friends working the convention, including Anthony and Silver--have planned or not planned that night.

A-Kon! More photos to come.
It was good to see Fig again. I finally shifted in front of him!
Did you honestly think I was kidding when I said I was a werehare?

Re: A-Kon 20
It was pretty much Figarou, Kaebora, ShadowSaber, and myself, with periodic spontaneous quantum fluctuations of Anthony and Silver in and out of the A-Kon Matrix. It wasn't the Pack comeback for which I had hoped, but with three of us having one form or another of costume, we had a good time at the con.
Anthony and Silver were both working the convention--Silver is A-Kon's event coordinator, and she's also involved in security. Anthony ran several panels. And, both of them are involved in running a lot of the behind-the-scenes aspects of the convention such as negotiating with the hotel to allow things and places to be used, finding the right people to fix technical problems, getting said people where they need to be, and making on-the-fly schedule and staffing changes when dominoes fall out of place.
As a side note, by Saturday night, there was a fire on the ninth floor of one tower and a flood on another tower. I told Silver that A-Kon inspired the Book of Revelations. ...and the fourth seal was opened, and the elevators failed throughout the land.

Well. I'm not holding a gun. If that's what you are referring to.
Silverclaw wrote:Did you guys buy a ton of stuff in the dealers room this year?
Did I buy any stuff? I wasn't going to buy anything at 1st. Not until I saw a Yoshi figure. I'm like YES!! Gimme! gimme! gimme! gimme! Looked around some more. Oh look!! More Yoshi!! Gimme!! Gimme!! Looked some more and found set of colored Yoshi plushies. Gimme! Gimme!! Ack...I had a Yoshi craze attack!!
Then I found a dragon wine/glass holder. Oh...I love dragons!! I got to have that!! Had to put that on my credit card cause I didn't bring enough cash.
(see below for pictures)
The only panel I went to was AB's independent film maker's panel.Silverclaw wrote:Any good panels? And did you see AB/Silver?
Oh....there was something that was going on at A-kon. I'm not sure when it started. (This year, last year, who knows.)
Duckies!!! That's right!! Duckies was all over the place! Not just plain duckies. You got ninja duckies, devil duckies, ETC. Even AB noticed the duckie craze going on. I wonder how it got started? I told AB. "Yes there is duckies everywhere, but do they have werewolf duckies? I do!!" I gave AB two of my werewolf duckies to show off. I should've tossed it him. I just handed it him.

Re: A-Kon 20
I also had a hot date on Sunday...
*Squeeks at Minerva Mink's cuteness.* ^~^
She was also one of the friends I was sharing a hotel room with. I was quite floored when she allowed Kae Bunny to escort her like a courting gentleman.

Negative on the mission; the launch crew could not maintain the target in their sights. It was moving too fast.

Re: A-Kon 20
So, Fig only has one arm, nice. I'm guessing you traded it for your throwing skills?
Ironically, it turns out that the time I booked off on whimsy for A-Kon, May 26th-June 2nd, was put to use for a more important purpose. My little sister died on the 25th, and I just got back from meeting the family down south for her funeral and such.
Quite the coincidence, that it would be from the morning we'd start driving there to the night we finally got home. A sad occasion.
