Human carnivorism

Post by Berserker »

Anyone hear about this diet?

Human carnivorism. Interesting, very interesting. I wonder how long it's sustainable? The evidence for it is certainly very divided, with some people citing the Inuits as a living example of the practice at work, while others decrying the diet as misguided and unhealthy.

(Maybe our wolfie pals have a thing going! Or maybe that's why they live only 12-15 years while we live 80? Hmmm.)

I've heard about it somewhere.

But shame for that, they're missing out on vegan stuff that i'm keen for.

Humans are Omnivores. Though we are capable of living long, reasonably healthy lives on purely Carnivorous or Herbivorous/Vegetarian/Vegan diets, it is simply a matter of fact that the Human body is built to function at it's best on a balanced diet of BOTH Flora and Fauna food sources.

... but hey ... whatever works for you.

This. Balancing is good.

Besides, there are too many tasty animals and too many tasty plants for me to ever give up my omnivorous ways.

There are good reasons that the Inuit are Carnivores. Look at where they live. There aren't gonna be many turnips growing when the ground is total permafrost.
Where they live, and have lived for centuries; there is only meat to eat. There is no way they can grow cereals (the first domesticated food) or gather fruits or nuts when there is only snow around 24-7.
The Inuit are an example of the adaptive nature of the human digestive tract...that, and the ones who couldn't survive without veggies died off young.

As for Wolf ages; remember, they age faster than we do, and live in a lot harsher world than we occupy. So, they die relatively young by our standards, but not by theirs.
