Re: One Thing You Want To Do Before You Die
Going overseas is fun. But make sure you know if you're being ripped off or not, my only advice.
The one thing...?
I want to... go to an enclosed field, surrounded by evergreen trees to complete my story and publish it. And I want the clearing to have clear skies most of the time for stargazing.
Yeah. Complete and total isolation sounds pretty good for my death bed. XD

Re: One Thing You Want To Do Before You Die
I'd like to get my diploma before I died.
Other than that, there isn't really anything I feel I would want to do if I knew I only had a few days (or so) to live.

Re: One Thing You Want To Do Before You Die
I gotta pick ONE?!?
Oh, okay. I want to roadtrip Route 66. And truth to tell, I'm 50% likely to accomplish that within the next 100 days.
See, a couple friends and I are driving out to Washington DC for the Inauguration, and we're considering Route 66 as a back-up travel path in case our first choice, I-80, is iced over. We're going to play it by ear and watch the weather carefully before deciding which to do.
The reason I put Route 66 as a second choice is because we'll be a bunch of Obama fans from the West Coast, driving through the reddest states in the Lower 48, and don't want to get beaten up at food/gas stops.
But hey, the other thing on my Bucket List is to roadtrip the Silk Road and that goes through Iran and the Taklamakan Desert. What's a million Dittoheads and active KKK cells next to a thousand miles of no water and a country where they still stone women to death?

One thing before I die?
Find out that a certain theoretical sort of beings are real, and maybe become one myself.
That's a no-brainer.
Realisically; Take Lady Gray on a 'bike tour of all the lower 48 states, and have the money to do so in grand style.
I'll settle for a trip from San Diego to Vancouver, though.

I want to raise a wallaby or two. Such cute critters, and they are far more affectionate than dogs or cats.

1. Go to Japan and London
2. Write a manga series
2. Write a manga series
I'm working on a werewolf novel, while liking to stay up late at night and going to college. I'm going to be sleep-deprived when this is all said and done.
Anthony Brownrigg, I hope you have the best of luck with Freeborn. RedEye, I also wish you the best of luck with Wulfen Blood. And for a bit of luck for both of you...

Might seem a bit typical, but find a mate that I care for and cares for me back, get married and the sort.
Not sure about kids, but that will come on its own.

Re: One Thing You Want To Do Before You Die
I originally had a list as well, but a lot of my final to dos were dependent on me having finished the book (write a sequel to the book, help create a manga/anime series based on the book, help develop an RPG video game based on the book, etc), so if I could only pick one thing, it would definitely be finishing the book.MoonKit wrote:Maybe I should make a list!
Those would have been on my full list too.Noir-Okami wrote:1. Go to Japan and London

Re: One Thing You Want To Do Before You Die
I'll have to follow the old "Write a book" suggestion.
At the very least, I want to do something inspirational. Whether that be drawing, writing, or anything else equally as creative. I figure that if I don't make it on the Best Sellers, at the very least I hope they'll be but one person whom aI manage to touch.
(Also, and I hate to say this, there's an immortal quality to writing a book. Once I'm dead, I'm dead, but what I leave behind will stay. I would like to have the piece of mind knowing that a part of me still stays intact after my death.)

Here's a few:
Drive a Ferrari
Visit the Philippines
Publish my novel (seems I'm not alone on this one; I say we raid Tor Books and stage a revolution)

Re: One Thing You Want To Do Before You Die
Route 66 is a famous, old road that diagonally bisects America, going from Chicago, Illinois to Santa Monica, CA. It's a piece of pop culture and is loaded with Americana. That's where the famous Cadillac Ranch is, among many other landmarks.Midnight wrote:Hmmm... I live "Down Under" and I regularly travel the entire length of Highway 99 (Cooper's Corner at Lorneville to the Blackmount turnoff at Clifden via Wallacetown, Riverton, Orepuki and Tuatapere). Does that count?
Yes, really cheesy turista junk, but fun and cool junk. Where else can you see '50s model Cadillacs planted grille-first in the ground and lifesized cement dinosaurs that contain gift shops? It's like Burning Man built architecturally and spread out over 2,400 miles. Basically, it's a veteran roadtrippers' pilgrimage to Mecca; you don't get your membership card until you've driven Route 66 from beginning to end.
