How do you Politick? A test.

First, some background information.
So, on the Pack IRC, we were all talking politics and stuff, but doing that was boring, so we made it more interesting by taking this little test called the political compass.
We found out interesting of things; we laughed, we cried, we scaled the mount Everest of personal understanding, and good things like that.
Then everyone proclaimed that we should make a thread, because a thread would be awesome, and we could plaster these images there stating our particular political leanings. So... you know, why not.
So here I am.
How do we go about this?
1. Go to
http://www.politicalcompass.org/test
2. Fill out the test, be as honest as possible. Please?
3. There'll be an image on the last page, near the bottom, with a little red dot that shows your position.
4. Right-click that image, copy the link, and paste the link here as a UBB [img].
Let the World see how crazy you are! Or how moderate you are compared to other people.
Here be disclaimers!
This is purely for sharing political compass images.
I ask you not to ...
- Debate here.
- Pick others up on their views.
- Kick up a stink.
- Or anything of the sort that's outside of the thread's purpose.
There can be other threads made for that, and PMs too. I'm asking you nicely... as a favour to me? Just the images. We all agreed in the IRC that it could go bad if we started talking about it here. So please, none of that. Eh?

This is me.
Now if you other guys don't post yours here, I'm going to look very silly, and feel utterly fooled. <.<

Left-y:
Economic Left/Right: -8.00
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -8.36
A lot of these questions seemed entirely irrelevant, though, and I KNOW I agreed with some that moght have nudged me in the wrong direction.

Quite centrist:
Now I can officially conclude that I'm NOT the conservative one....everyone else who argues with me is liberal XD

Economic left/right = -1.38
Social Libertarian = - 7.87
No surprises there, odd questions sometimes though

This is a good test. I've used it before, so I just zipped right through the questions because I pretty much have it memorized and know where I stand.
Sooooooo...here's where I stand:
I've been accused of being far Left to the point of Socialism before, so it usually surprises people to find that I'm actually Centre-Left, tending towards Libertarian.

Man, taking that test made me stretch my brain with the way some of those questions were worded. I'm totally not meant for schooling.
Edited to add: It was funny because I'm all about freedom of sexuality and the right to abortion but Im like super harsh on criminals.

Interesting how so many people ended up in the green, heh.

Economic Left/Right: -6.00
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.69
I've moved more Left and a tiny bit more Libertarian since I last took this test. Some of Vagrant's anarchy rubbed off on me I guess.

I just wish that my Left friends were as intelligent as you guys are...
Incidentally, I shall use this thread as an opportunity to advertise the Pack IRC:
HEY! COME TO THE PACK IRC! IT'S
FUN!
Thank you.

The only surprise here was looking at some of the other results and finding out I'm actually not the biggest of the pinko-commies in the pack. My reputation is ruined.

I was surprised by this... I think it's because I didn't understand some of the more trade/economics-based questions (scary, because I'm an economics major as well as art, but I'm in my first year). I also think I scored as less conservative than I ought to have because I'm almost atheist/anti-religious, which is not the norm for right-wingers, but I have a very right-wing moral system. Weird. Well, anyway, it looks like I might be the only conservative so far, besides possibly Howlitzer?
Economic Left/Right: -2.12
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 4.87

It's interesting that a lot of us wound up in the green square. Even more interesting that the Greenies wound up within four to six grid squares of each other in any direction! Maybe we should form our own political coalition: forget the Green Dogs, we're the Green Wolves!
I just switched over from the Cascadian Independence Party to the Democrats, on behest of one of my Obama campaign colleagues. He's a former Green, starting up a Green Caucus in the Democratic Party to young-turk it over to Green values. He describes himself as a Green Dog Democrat, which is a moderate. I don't like dogs so I call myself a Green Wolf Democrat...still deciding what that politically means and entails...
Not too surprised at the results here. Pollsters around the election claimed that the majority of Americans are Centrist, leaning Left.
Moonkit: Yeah, I'm sexually-liberal and pretty harsh on criminals, too. But I'm fairly lax on marijuana users, even though I never touch the stuff; I guess that's what scooted me further to the Left.

How did you answer the "mandated religion" questions? If you feel the state should be anti-religion, that would still qualify as mandated religion.
It's not a perfect system for determining one's political alignment, both because it lumps economic and personal freedom questions together in the same category, and because it asks complex questions that require more than the simple "yes" or "no" answers they offer.

It's interesting nonetheless to see your views change over time, however slightly. It also rekindles your thinking about politics and how strong you will hold to your values. I agree that the questions are extremely generalized; I had to suspend my judgment and restrict myself to only the situation the question presents in order to come up with anything definite. As with everything in life, it depends on the circumstances. I think that centrist politics are the preferable choice in most (but not all) cases, and extremism should only be called in under equally extreme circumstances, and only as a last resort. I attempted this test as what I would like to see ideally, but realistically I suppose my views shift wildly every day. Every argument for every side in every situation seems to sound better and better the more I look into it, and I find myself clinging to my morality for dear life among a torrent of persuasive ideologies.

Terestas: That's what I felt about a lot of the questions myself. Such as "A parent should never spank their kid," "Astrology accurately predicts the future" etc.

I'm noticing that a lot of the people on this blog are liberally-minded.
I'm not surprised by that; those that use the 'net tend to be young, and us young'ns tend to be liberal these days (at least in America; not sure about the rest of the world).
To be honest, I'd actually hoping a few more 'righties' decide to show their colors so we can have a more balanced forum.

Oh, we're not all young. I'm in my mid 30's and Midnight's older than me. I just figured that was probably worth mentioning.

Well, alright then. Hehe...they say 75% of all statistics are wrong, including this one.
Either way, it still seems that most of us pack members are liberal, and while I don't mind that, It'd be nice to see some conservatives show their views...you know, just to round us out.
