(At Surge)

Surge saw Zan make eye contact and got the message. He approached the guards, and smirked. "Guns are only dangerous when they have bullets in them." Instantaneously the two guard fire and Surge, but a small click is heard, and no bullets are fired out of the gun. "Now, you have little chance of beating me, despite my restraint and old age, so I'll give you a chance. Tell me three things. One, why did you do this? Two, why are you going after Bloodoak? And three, will you tell your leaders that I am back once more?"
The two guards charge at Surge, hoping to be able to overpower him with fists. Surge tutted and sidestepped the first one, and tripped him up, and then grabbed the second one's arm and twisted it, forcing him down to the ground. "You will have to move faster than that to Overpower me. Now, will you answer my questions? And, one more thing, just to show you that this is trouble for you if you refuse, I'll tell you my name. I am Surge Aquos."
At the mention of the name, the one in uniform's eyes showed fear. "Now, once again I ask you," Surge whispered, "Will you tell me the answer to my questions?"

(At Wolfward)
Dusten knew all about the extent of the wreckage, since he had lived there for a few months.
"This is what happens when demons come. They are the only group of the four with no thought to innocent life. They are the only ones who see no reason."

Blade stuck the sword behind his sheath. He followed along.
OOC: Sorry, this ones short cause I don't have much time. :(

"If we could reason with them, we wouldn't be in the situation we're in now. We only want the survival of our race, but if that is secured, then why shouldn't we think about others?" Shortly, they arrive back in werewolf territory.

Dusten shook his head. "Demons are mindless, except the greater ones and the stronger ones. And those are so strong that killing is what they are good at, so that is all they do."

Wolfward sees to it that a specialist is found for Hal. He still wonders whether he should risk taking him to someone else though. He is glad to be free of the war that is raging out-side, even if it is only for a moment. He asks Blade"So, what'd you think about...um..."indicates Hal.

"well, he hasn't killed any of us yet, and he seems to be helping, so lets just let him be." Blade shrugged. He looked at Hal. He really wanted to help him...

If the creature understood anything of what was said about him, he gave no sign. Instead, he crouched where he was, panting from exertion, occasionally lifting one hand to scratch behind an ear, and looking from Blade to Wolfward and back again.

Mysteriously, the smell of the sewer had departed from him and no foul tang of decomposition clung to his massive frame. Instead he seemed little more than any other half-wild animal, albeit with human proportions.

There was no smell of agression that his companions could detect, at least none that was directed towards them. Only typical low-level pack behavior. His tail was tucked between his legs and both Blade and Wolfward noted that Hal averted his gaze when anyone looked him in the face.

Blade started to walk towards the exit to see no one was following, except for Hal, who padded along beside him.
"You know what..." Blade turned back to wolfward, "Got any idea what this thing is?" He motioned to the old rune sword on his back. (The one he found in the rubble.)

OOC: Sorry guys it was a long weekend...

Dusten was looking outside the wasteland that had once been a miraculous country. He closed his eye, and embraced the air around him and all the magical energy. In the midst of the energy, he felt something familiar, but new, type of energy nearby. He opened his eye, and worked on identifying the energy. It had an aggressive feeling, like a weapon, but it felt fake, like it was just a lone, simple sword.

It took him a couple of minutes, but it had to be one of his father's dud swords. Such clever items. Nothing more than a wooden or rusty sword that, when the fact it's a dud sword is known, can be much more powerful. A supply of weapons with set names through magical means that when one was called out when a dud sword was held, they would switch places, leaving a much more powerful weapon in the hands of the user. Quickly, Dusten stood up and went looking for Wolfward.

"I don't know much about it....but maybe Surge could tell you about it." Wolfward searches his pouch he has tied on his back and pulls out a piece of parchment and hands it to Zan. On it are the words"To find a cure, go to the place of the pure." "If you want to cure him, you must go to this place. I'll even come with you if you like. It's referring to the monestry of St. Lycaen. In the mountains a few days walk from here, across unfriendly territory. The monks there have magical healing powers and can cure all diseases, earthly ones at least. But to please them you must first offer them a gift of a rare object, in return they will offer you their skill. I think that if that sword is valuable in any way, they will gladly except it. But, only if you want really want to, for changing your mind half-way through would make things a bit messy...so?"Wolfward looks at him, expectingly.

Dusten burst round the corner and sprinted into the room.
"Wolfward, I think there might be a dud weapon in the building. the air is feeling a little troubled, which can only happen when objects of great power are near. Do you have any idea to where it could be?"

"Yes, I think he does" Wolfward loks at Dusten."Well?"

(due to lack of posts, I'm going to have to unfortunately remove Miguel until a later date)

Dusten looked at the sword held out infront of him. The energy matched that he had sensed.
"Let me have a closer look." As he touched it, the innate energy sped out, felt only by Dusten and one other.

Surge looked up. "A dud weapon. Sorry Zan, I have to go. Hope you can handle things here!" With that, Surge ran off, muttering the words to teleport him there. A few minutes later, he materialised in the room with Wolfward, Blade, Dusten and the dud weapon in.
"So, what have I missed?"

"Well, the dud weapon is actually not a dud and it started sparking when he touched it, so not much." Blade said sarcastically.

Surge looked at the blade. "No. It is a dud weapon. It's the first I made. It was the only one that is useful when the name isn't called out. It had it's own will added in to it so that it could identify it's own wielder. It seems to have chosen you."

Hal's ears pricked up as Blade brandished his new weapon. The creature's eyes for a moment seemed fixated on the keen edge and how it caught the light and reflected it back as an odd color.

Hello, Hal...

Hal's ears flattened and he cringed, a faint growl coming from his throat. He looked back and forth between his companions, but none of them seemed to have heard the voice.

They cannot hear me, creature of filth. Only you can hear me.

The sword! Hal bared his teeth and snarled at the weapon.

Yes, man-wolf, pitiful wretch, I am in your mind alone. You cannot escape me. And I know you understand me, though your madness defends you against my powers for now. That fool Surge did not know what he wrought when he made me. Now I am your new master. We will journey together you and I. Yes, I have plans for you my miserable pet.

The laughter in his mind caused Hal to whine pitifully, all the more so because he knew he was alone.

Alone except for the thing in his mind.

Blade stared down the weapon. "Is it okay to sharpen it?" THen he heard Hal's whines.
He seemed to be crouched on the floor, whining. "Hal?"

Hal wanted to lash out, to tear the sword from his master's grip, to hurl the unholy thing far away.

No, my hound, the voice said. Not yet. Pay obeisance where it is needed. You cannot rid yourself of me that easily. No one can help you. Obey. Obey!!

Hal crouched low, whimpering, his clawed hands clasped over his head as if to shield himself from some falling object. The others looked at him half in pity, half in puzzlement as the mad werewolf began to drool in his fright.

Up with you. You will not reveal me to them just yet. All is well. All is well.

Slowly, Hal rose once more to crouch before Blade, his ears low but no malice in them. He ceased his whimpering and looked up at Blade, almost pleadingly.

Good wolf. Now, abase yourself, wretched thing. Act like the pet you are. Obey!

Miserably, Hal licked Blade's hand.

Surge looke at the following act, and then spoke. "while yes, you can sharpen it, it seems to be giving Hal pain."

"Hal doesn't seem to be in pain anymore." Blade felt Hal's vibes. They were calm with the little bit of worry like he always had. "How far is it to that one place, um, dalringer's, the smith. I wanna get this sharpened and try it out."

Surge closed his eyes for five seconds, then opened them.
"Too far away to get there before another rough night. I'll smith it for you."

"Heh, I couldn't say that. Ask someone else. Let me tell you that I'm here by choice not by force or because the occasion demands it. I'll deal with the sword, and then I'll see what I can find out for you."
