Dusten turned back to Wolfward, and smiled. "I've stayed clear of factions in this war. The humans hate me for supporting the wolf/human peace act, and trying to get it back. The demons hate me for being related to Surge, most vampires hate me because of my lycanthropic blood, and your tuition, and numerous werewolves don't like me for not supporting the brotherhood. My loyalties have therefore remained with the few who have supported me in this rough time in hiding, as well as you, Blackout and Dad." Dusten checked the pile of rubble to make sure it wasn't near a level where the demon could throw it off, then sheathed his sword. "Now, may I introduce myself to your company?"

Blade stared at Dusten. He wasn't what he thought a demon would look like. He fought demons before and they usually had huge claws and maybe one or two huge swords. Even bigger than blade's.

-----------------------------------------------------
Note from Thunderclaw; Dusten isn't a demon. He is the son of surge, but is warning about a demon trapped under the rubble.

With a quick motion, Zan signaled for the guards to silence and spat the remaining blood from his mouth. He could hear explosions on the ground above, even nearer than the one before. It was clear that Surge was willing to help him, but the group of werewolves seemed to hate the humans. He nodded.

"Where were they going?" he questioned, pointing in the direction that the werewolves traveled. "Does that tunnel lead to the outskirts of Bloodoak?"

Surge barely moved as he replied. "Under here you could get to almost any place on the land. They'll reach their destination. Likewise, we ca reach our destination as well."

Hal cautiously approached the newcomer, sniffing carefully at his proffered hand. His eyes flitted back and forth between Dusten and the seemingly vacant casements of the surrounding buildings, which thrust up at crazily leaning angles from the landscape. They seemed like crooked and broken teeth jutting from the maw of some fantastic beast.

And the smell still rose from the ground, that reek that seemed to have such an air of monstrous menace. Hal's dorsal hair still stood on end and he found himself panting from the exertion of the continuous adrenalin spikes to his system. With his big pink tongue hanging out, he looked rather comical to his companions as he whined and licked Dusten's hand.

Dusten was caught off guard by Hal's action, but managed to suppress it from showing, and smiled. "Hello there. I'm Dusten Aquasselino, Duste Aquos for short. Nice to meet you!"

Zan smirked and began moving in the same direction that the werewolves had traveled, and began descending down the ramp, further into the sewer. He signaled for the guards to follow. They complied, rearming their weapons and following behind, using the flashlights on the guns to light the sewer tunnel ahead.

"Join us if you want, but don't expect us to move slowly," Zan spoke in Surge's direction.

Within moments, Zan began sprinting along the scaffolding along the water tunnel's side, causing it to sway beneath him. It was in poor repair, likely to collapse into the murk below at any time. The guards followed behind, much slower, apparently hesitant of walking on the scaffolding. The entire tunnel shook, vibrated by an explosion on the world above. A small, rusted, service door resided up ahead with the words 'TO SURFACE LEVEL' written along its frame in red paint. Above it sat a small, cracked lightbulb that once served as a source of light in the tunnel. Zan signaled for the guards to move forward, and they did, holding their weapons in a casual manner; both panting from running.

"Open it," Zan spoke to the older guard.
"What?" the man responded, clearly trying to delay any further action.
"Open the door and kill anything on the other side."
The man nodded and signaled for the younger guard to help him. Zan intervened, "No, just you."
The younger guard quickly backed away and lifted his gun, pointing it at the door, prepared to fire. He spoke, "You heard the commander. Go."

The older man nodded, abruptly, and then began grumbling. He lifted his gun and aimed it at the door's lock. Suddenly, the tunnel exploded in five bright flashes of light as he shot it off the door. There was a clinging sound, and the door creaked open, revealing a poorly lit, concrete room with a generator. Debris and blood stains coated the floor, but there wasn't any sign of anyone or anything living within the room itself. A small ladder resided on the furthermost wall, also rusted, but it surely led to ground level. The older guard moved to the room's center and turned around, grinning.

"See, commander, nothing," he spoke, kicking the generator with his foot.
"You sure?" Zan questioned, pointing to the walls so that the younger guard would illuminate them with his flashlight.
"Am I dead?" the older man responded, sarcastically.

Zan nodded and, with caution, moved into the room, listening to the hum of the generator. Someone was using it, or had been using it. The younger guard followed behind, still holding his gun defensively, ready to fire. Zan turned back to face the door which he had just entered.

"Where's Surge?"

"Right here." The voice came from behind Zan. Despite not seeing him come through the door, he was already in the room. "This generator is in pretty bad shape. Leaving it as it is would definitely be dangerous."

"What do you want, Dusten? As I remember you said you wanted nothing to do with us any more."Wolfward remembered the times he's spent with him in times past. They were once close, but had lost touch after the werewolf's empire on earth had fallen.

"I currently want to stop you from releasing the demon from the rubble. Plans after that are currently unmade."

Wolfward tells Blade,"Fine, listen to him." and then goes over to Dusten."What do you want?"

Dusten sheathed his sword. "Not werewolves. vampire stragglers, the demons. Nothing else.

"Then our work here is done." He signals for the two werewolves to follow him, and starts to walk away.

suddenly the ground began to shake violently. The force knocked Dusten down for a second, but he then rose. "I'd start piling up those stones again. It's breaking free!" Dusten grabbed a large stone from the ground and stumbled over to get it onto the pile of rubble. "Quick! Before it gets out!

Dusten stood there, panting. "Yes. Unless it managed to get out a call..."
In an instant, a blood-curdling roar shattered the serenity of the surrounding area. "...To it's fellow demons." Dusten turned around and looked up to see seven demons coming towards them, along with familiars. "From the looks of things, basic demon footsoldiers. Nothing special about them. They aren't going to be too difficult for us to beat."

Dusten shook his head. "Yes. you could take them all, but to think we'll take a back seat is a bit unjustified." Dusten pulled back his cloak and pulled out a modified colt 45, and aimed it at the nearest demon. "After all, blind demons are much easier to beat without relieving injury." Two shots were fired, striking the demon in the eyes. The Demon shrieked in pain, grasping it's eyes in it's hands.

Wolfward reaches them, draws both blades, and slices the closest one to him in two at the waist.
