Speaking from a position of off-board contact, let me say this to ease your hearts.

Spongy is in a very intense schooling phase, with hardly time to sneeze before he falls asleep at night.
It isn't us. It's his education. He will most likely be back once the pressure has lessened, although that will take time...a lot of it. And he has no choice in the matter...
He isn't in any trouble, other than having 30 hours a day worth of study and schoolwork to do.
