The one thing that furstrates me in SL

Post by Werewolf Warrior »

Ok well I had a MG SL Account as you all remember as Zueko Silverfall, but There was a day where 3 people at a empty sim (literally) were planning to buy the sim even though i had the half sim part of it but was gone after a week of success for me and the profit... I lost it. Than when i came to look at the board showing the price of the sim. They insulted me in English and in French, and the 3rd person which was someones GF laughed at me.

which really pissed me off. They made fun of my Av and my SL name. which made me so angry i left the sim, and I was building a castle. Than "bum bum bum" SL Crashed, and I forgot my password. I went to the site to find out my password "Again" and it got sent to my email. but it ended up being a reset thing. I Did but than it said "if your having trouble getting your password call LindenLabs".

Now Normally Sites and games like SL would not pull that they would send you the password and you'll be back on good as new, but SL really ****ed up on that lol xD not fully literal but enough for the person to say "The Heck O.o' "

O.O! but Im not complaining, its just really odd that they would do such a thing.

Sooo.... I had to make a "New" Account "Wolfbane Adderstein" and now should be a problem other than im unable to lead Werewolf Nation in SL, but I think one of my admins would lead it since its being a pain in the *** to get the password back to lead my group once more. sooo....yeah. Now I lead a new group... but i still run Werewolf Nation's Site and the MySpace part of it.

so im not completely out of WN, im just two-thirds out of WN. ^^ so lucky me lol XD

sounds like the 'venting' thread would've been a better outlet. Anyhow, you get those types. Especially online.

That's why there's need for moderation.

There's a difference between censorship and statements with intent to hurt, that's less obvious in a static medium, but with an online game or similar, it's much easier to spot.

Then again, some games just have bad communities, but not all do. I'm amazed that on TF2's UKmandown servers no one has ever angled an insult my way or commented negatively about my furryish Steam ID (VagrantWulf).

It's just a matter of having moderation, or failing that, finding a group of good people.

Okay... Here are a few suggestions for Second Life that makes my SL experience a bit easier to manage.

1> Keep a hard copy of your name, passcode, and your Linden balance.
I use 3x5 cards and have a nice little file-box for them.

2> Rents are due as soon as your old paid time runs out. Try keeping at least a week ahead on the rents and tier fees.

3> There are a lot of rude people in SL. There is a way to deal with them though, that works quite well; especially if they have insulted people.
a: Get names. Get groups if they have the group tag above their name.
b: Make sure you haven't done anything to provoke the assault yourself.
c: File a report with Linden Labs giving the time, names, and actions of the people; as well as a list of any losses you experienced. It will take time, but Linden has an interest in keeping things mannerly.
d: Most important: Records, Records, Records...OFF THE SITE! Physical records are the only way you can prove your case.

And note: some people wait until a sim-user has run out of paid up rent and then swoop in and grab things; usually to re-rent to the old occupant at an inflated price. The only remedy for that is not to let your "fees" run out.

"They were French and were insulting..."

Man, that's what the French DO! even to each other...

Yet, if you prove you can take it, they become steadfast friends. As a full Eurofur member (not Eurofur Extra) I can tell you it's worth it.
