the metabolism I was talking about does not have to be entirely realistic.
the given and expected mechanics and powers of a werewolf are:
increased strength
ability to Change
regenerative health
savage/brutal/homocidal behavior

that does not mean a 'wolf that only Changes in extreme circumstances ...

cool

i think that there can be all kinds of weres, but for the movie references should only be made to common legends and maybe one character in the movie that is still canine, like an African who's a wild dog or an Australian who's a dingo. That's it. Any farther and they will have to open up a new ...

other

only if the bone is still connected. if a 'wolf dips his hand in acid until there was bone AND connecting ligaments, he'll be able to grow the hand back.
If someone cuts the limb off at the bone and the 'wolf holds the limb to the hole, it won't do it.

If I were a 'wolf, I at least would have a few tactics developed.

For a full-blown werewolf vs. an antagonistic human w/ or w/o a weapon:
Just kill it. Mighty, mighty werewolves! A gun or projectile weapon ...

no

I like many of the effects in the RPG The World of Darkness(I think its called) Werewolf: The Forsaken. A 'wolf has better camoflage than that. A 'wolf is physically indistinguishable from a buff human.

metabolism

I think that a werewolf has an accelerated metabolism, for injuries, and when not Changing or healing, that metabolism converts food energy into a sort of "super fat" that's lightweight and compact at once. So when a 'wolf Changes, her body accesses that cache of energy, expending it at a rate that ...
