Umm no, it means, kinda, the whole is better (more) than the sum of the parts.
The final package is better than a blend of the two, so to speak. And that's how I see the mid form. The very best of both, even a little better in some areas.
I do believe the word is German, however.

I'd love to tell you all sorts of cool effects we'll have - but the truth is that we're not there yet. Won't be til we have the money to try some fancy stuff out. (independent fim makers have to ba patient lot) There are some cool ideas, though. We've got, in my opinion, the best group for the job i...

Lessee Me no Lycan either, Fig Scott, the best description I've seen of the Freeborn character. Pretty much on the money. What do they call themselves? Jack, Donna, Max, Zane, etc. They don't call themselves anything, really. How often do you and your friends refer to yourselves, in particular, as h...

I LIKE werewolves as mutated humans. The idea of a kinship to the humans that you must hide from has a pathos that I love. I see them as the trus Alphas that choose to live among their less gifted brotheren. There is a journey to take as one learns to adjust to the new abilities, the new life. The t...

Man, this is soooo fun and tough at the same time. The Van Helsing Gestalt is probably my favorite so far. But like everybody, I have my own ideas of what a were looks like. I use the excuse that evolution would keep what worked best and disguard what didn't. Hence my 'whole is greater than the sum ...

WOW! What an interesting theory! Would they try to restrict Were's from driving during a full moon? Would only certain places be legal for Were's during a full moon? Would there be special troops trained to deal with Weres, especially new ones? Gives Canine Corp and Swat team a whole new meaning. Wo...

Yes, I've met two women who were color blind and one that has male pattern baldness. So I assume they are very rare. BUT they exist. So something that shouldn't exist (born were) might exist in a very very very rare circumstance. About as common as those two women. I've ALWAYS thought that there had...

I think, when it all comes down to dust, any shifting is going to take an energy that's not understandable. So, I say with hands, feet, head, fur, teeth, and claws, what's a tail more? I have dogs - one with a stub and one with the new 1/4 tail they have for dogs that have brittle tails. The tail, e...

I'll find out about why Silver's Corner doesn't show. It should. It's supposed to be open for anyone to see. I think that there should be a limited number of were types. If there were dozens, it would have become evident by now. Humans would know. But every time I hear of a new type, I think 'It's s...

Well, I would think that when a WW regenerates, his bad teeth would get better. So when he changed back, he wouldn't need fillers. BUT his teeth grew that way naturally....wouldn't they just go back to their natural state? They wouldn't straighten themselves out to the dentist's requirements...... S...

Hey, just want to add my two here. We are NOT going to create fur tents with arms and legs. No left over shag carpet glued to a body suit . No heads made out of rubber with crocodile hinged jaws. OK, Scott, I'm a little confused. I thought hemophilia was passed through the mother but only affected males - it passed from father to daughter to son. Okay, okay - I'm having a hard time with this. If there are so many were creatures out there, there would have been evidence of it by now. I know, I know, but I'm still working on the Feeborn world. I've read the opinions on this thread, and there's something that needs to be remembered. It was decided a while back that the transformation was not magic, but a virus that mutated the DNA. So magic doesn't enter into the equasion here. It seems that if you take the magic out, the majority of the o...

Hard question. Body parts and transformation
This is a hard one and if you're squeamish, please look the other way. I haven't found this in any discussion, so, Fig, if the topic exists, point me to it. If a WW is in Gestalt form and, say, looses a hand while he's still alive. Doe the hand stay in Gesalt form or does it go back to the original ...

Best of both worlds?
I have one question to throw into the mix - though I think it's almost not right - we call the mid-form gestalt, meaning the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. i.e. the mid form is better than the combo of both. They are stronger, faster, as intelligent as the human side - So do we say thei...
