A corporation is planning to build an LNG pipeline through Siant John, cutting 890 hectare Rockwood park in half and sending it through residental neighborhoods, this corporation has beeen presented with a viable alternative, a sea route, but they have declined saying it's uneconomical. This project has even been give a no go by the citys' fire cheif. If the pipeline were to rupture, it could cause a major fire. the company is still bent on defacing the largest municipal park in canada and endangering human lives just to save a few million!

Yes,
they want to connect the american pipeline with a terminal here in Saint john. They interviewed a guy this morning who says he's sure city council will be on his side by the time he goes to environment canada, city council has alread held general hearing for citizens to voice their objections, most of us want a pipeline, but we are opposed to the current route. I for one feel that this pipeline should never make land within city limits.

This is typical corporation-like thinking. They refuse to spend any money to develop a better (and safer) alternative merely to save money. Yet they do not realize that their profits will be beyond the initial costs to cover such an expense of relocating their original route along the sea.
Actually, they probably DO realize they can more than cover the costs, but the bigwigs are what you call "bean counters". You would have to pry that last little penny from their dead fingers because they are so tight-waded.
