Well Albee darned!
Two things I noticed.
1. Kaze: Ghost Centurion
First, I was watching the end credits, when I noticed that a certain Timothy Albee was involved in doing some of the CGI animations. I looked him up, and sure enough, our own Timothy Albee, future renderer of Freeborn werewolves, is involved in Battlestar's third season. I think he's the one doing the Cylon centurions. I also discovered he was involved at some point in Babylon 5.
2. Adama mental-shifts and runs naked around a beach
I didn't make the connection right away, but Edward James Olmos, who plays Admiral Adama, was in Wolfen as the Native American construction worker who performs shapeshifting rites. I saw Wolfen the day before yesterday and then discovered his name in the credits. Of course, Wolfen was made back in 1981. Back then, the name "Adama" referred to Lorne Greene.

Taking a Gestalt approach, since it's the "in" thing...

Imagine the Galactica and the colonists showing up...
So... you're a rag-tag fugitive fleet on the run from an advanced, high-tech, hostile creation of yours, and they're hot on your tail.
Yes, and we'd like to colonize your planet.
OK. Now, about these Ceylons. They have a fleet of Base Stars capable of annihilating all life on planets like ours.
Well, yes. That's why we came to you. We'll need your help--we'll match plans, coordinating our one remaining Battlestar with your defense fleet.
Right...
And, we'll help in exchange defend your various outposts and colonies...
Mmm... OK...
And, I know you might not want to discuss your full tactical capabilities, but, just roughly, off the top of your heads, what kind of space capabilities are you capable of delivering?
Well, we've got a few Soyuz capsules; three shuttles--they're about due for retirement, by the way; and the Chinese are working on some new Shenzou rockets. And, there's the International Space Station... It's got some recently upgraded solar panels.
Oh, bugger, you're completely planet-bound. We're screwed!
Well, we've got these little buggies on Mars--now, granted, they're purely robotic, but...

Yeah, and just in case anyone's curious, Tim got hired onto BSG this year and his job has been to animate the Cylon Centurions -- the robotic Cylons that you've seen this season.
He also did Kaze: Ghost Warrior of course (http://www.kazeghostwarrior.com) and he's trying to juggle that (he's working on a new episode as well as enhancing and adding to the original work for a re-release), Freeborn, Galactica, and even more movie projects. How the heck he does it all is beyond me! lol.
