Anyhow, how difficult is latex to work with? And silicone? I can get silicon from the local hardware store I think.

I dunno, I havn't worked with the raw materials before. I always have used caulking compounds. But I doubt it would be much more difficult. It can be a bit of annoyance sometimes, but not terrible.

It's the sealant you use around windows, bathtubs, etc.
