Casino Royale
Wow.. wow.. wow.. Silver and I just went to go see it.. WOW.. what a great bond film.. This guy is great as bond, and I'm thrilled in how they handled the film.. a pure 'spy' film.. very nice.. if anyone has seen it.. there is a on foot chase scene through a construction site. The guy that bond is chasing moves like silver and I always picture werewolves would be able to move.. fantasticly quick and agile, but realisticly as well.. Very impressive.. I oughta find that guy to do suit work on freeborn.

The Movie is a CORKER!! Daniel Craig brings something new and brutal and raw to the role. The guy he chases at the beginning that your talking about is a 'Free Runner' known as Foucan. Track down a French film called 'D13' or 'District 13'. Kind of a french version of 'Escape from New York' but with a LOT of Free Running in it. I'm absolutely positive that this guy is in this movie too. There is however a whole group of them that tour the world giving demonstrationns of they're sport.

ok...one question.ABrownrigg wrote:Yes.. yes.. yes.. if I'm gonna put 'anyone' in suits, it should be folks like that.. im highly impressed.
What type of suit?
Putting someone thats good at Parkour in a full werewolf suit can limit his abilities. He'll be wearing gloves that resemble paws. Being able to grab something as he jumps will be difficult compared to using his bare hands. And the suit itself may be a bit tight limiting how far he can jump. Unless the suit is specially made so it won't interfere with his Parkour movements.
Or will he be wearing a "blue suit?" And the werewolf's body is digitally imposed over him?
I know these guys are going to have to retrain themselves if you expect them to be good at Parkour in a suit compared to not having the werewolf/"blue suit" on.

Not sure, but I just checked out the film/tv section of the media link on the UF site and it mentions Blood and Chocolate at the date of Aug 2005. May have been beaten to the punch there fella. Would still be cool to see a werewolf bouncing around like that tho. It is truly amazing what these guys can do. It would beat CG anyday.

Using CG, the hands/paws can be put in after filming, the same with the feet I guess. There's always Motion Capture.

Yes it would....
But if one of them was wearing a "blue suit" with dots that a computer can follow with a special camera, it CAN be imitated with a CG werewolf.
I'm not saying its the best option. I'm saying there is more than one way of achieving this.

Yeah, it harks back to the days of watching the 'making of' videos on EA Sports games. Watching the Athlete in suits with ping pong balls all over them. Motion Capture could be the answer

A partial "blue suit" / werewolf suit can help. Parts of him will be CG while the others is synthetic material. Question is...which parts?

If your just using a partial suit I think there would be problems with regards to the length of the actors leg and that of the gestalt(i'm assuming here) leg. Because you are actually filming the actor, say, landing on a log for example... to super-impose a wereleg onto that would look naff as it would have to appear stumpy and short to fit into the space between the log and the actors knee. The actual movement and action would obviously look far better tho, as I think even when moition captured and digitised, a character still looks false. Look at blade and spiderman. good effects but some seriously ropey movement.

Yes...the legs will be a problem if we want the "digitigrade" look.
Thats why I asked "which parts?"
If he has to perform his Parkour movements in leg extensions, he needs to retrain himself. It'll be like running a marathon in bowling shoes instead of running shoes if he doesn't retrain.
We don't want to end up injuring the guy when he is performing his Parkour movements in a werewolf suit.

Good. I'm glad to hear that.
I like to see them move fluidly as possible as well.
No limitations.

Yeah I loved it too.
"I'm gonna telll the whole world you died sctratching my balls!"
I'm not gonna go all stupid and say that it was the funniest thing I've heard in a while, it seemed a little out of place for Bond, but none the less it brought me a good chuckle. Loved the free running part!
