Just started a new diet program today, it's actually pretty good. All whole foods. The closest they come to prepackaged is graham crackers.
Nothing going right now but I had a nice, rib-stickin' breakfast of raisin oatmeal, juice and scrambled eggs. Here's a tip for nice fluffy egg curds: heat up the milk a little before whisking it into the eggs. No watery. Good schtuff, Maynard
Dinner tonight: tandoor chicken sausage and strawberries!

I'm goin' over to Quizno's, friends
Bringing home a 6" prime rib sub and downing it with strawberries and grape juice.
Tonight: shrimp penne with Sprinz cheese.
Tomorrow: Christening my new slow roaster with a pheasant, and the next day making soup with the pheasant bones, rotelli, pineapple and ginger. I did some braised turkey legs a couple nights ago and I kept the broth, that will be a component in the soup.

Being true to my Wulfen ancestors (not), I have developed a taste for Steak Tartare...and a whole lot of respect for the work involved in fixing it!
There's one restaurant here in the Los Angeles area that will do it for me, If I Call In Beforehand. It's not just raw meat: It's Juliene of the leanest slices of beef, mixed with spices and parsley.
It's seriously good stuff!
You do have to get used to a bit of blood, since it's raw.
But man, I do love it!

Seriously, I started the roast in the slow cooker this morning. Can't smell it yet, but I'm due to go check it again in a few minutes. In fact, if y'all will hold on for a minute...
[nips out to the kitchen]
[nips back]
Skin coulda used a bit of basting, added a couple T's of lavender buds...ahhh, herbes de provence pheasant and red potatoes!
