...is when they never tell me what the damn movie is about. I really don't give a s*** what awards it won or was nominated for, tell me what the stupid thing is about! I'm not going to pay to see a movie when I don't know what in hell I'm going to be watching.

Does this drive anyone else nuts, or is it just me?

yup :) you are totally right...i know hate this stuff too. they are telling you everything but what it is about....i think they want to make it more exciting :wink:

I can't recall any trailers like that. Can you give us some examples? Better yet, a link to an online video of one?

They did it with Pan's Labyrinth when they were advertising for it here, and now they're doing it for Babel. Nothing on the internet has the short "Oh it won an award, it must be the shiznit!" ads. They're all full length, actually telling me about the movie versions. So...

Watch tv. You're bound to see it some time.

Yeah, Pan's Labyrinth, I remember how they kept advertising it as mostly a fantasy movie. Haven't seen it, but I've heard otherwise. Which reminds me of yet another movie doing the same EXACT thing:
