We don't rank people here. You may be detested or loved through your posts but it doesn't matter on the quantity but the quality of your posts. The thing on the side calculates quantity, which has no meaning here unless your Fig and like to brag about it.

I'm pretty sure:
0 - 4 No Moons - No title
5 - 9 One Moon - Just Bitten
10 - 19 Two Moons - Dealing with the Change
20 - 29 Three Moons - Pack Member
30 - 49 Four Moons - Pack Leader
50+ Five Moons - Legendary
We've talked about changing this scale, but I don't know if anyone in charge is actually going to do so. (The discussion started with Vuldari's post here.)

Some have complained that the scale moves too quickly, making us surrounded by legends. (Others point out that werewolves are indeed legends, and yes, ShadowBlaze, weretigers are also in the legendary category.)
The scale was created early on, before it was known how much traffic this site would generate. It was also created before a lot of other precedents were set, and a lot has changed since Day One, two days before Thanksgiving 2004.
Thankfully, we're a close-knit community with almost no flaming or immature behavior. Against the inevitable occasional role-playing "I'm a p-shifter," we've answered with a polite "that's nice, but can you back that up?" rather than the contemptful stomping that most werewolf-themed BBSes tend to do.
There are those who are more active, but I'd say the only true high ranks would have to be those who are involved with the movie Freeborn (Anthony Brownrigg, the mastermind who came up with the idea of asking werewolf fans what we want in their movie, plus his wife Silver, plus other members of ReQuest Entertainment, like akujiwulf), and site moderators like Figarou, who have amazing amounts of free time. (He's logged more than 2500 posts as of this writing.)
But, there's also people like the artist Goldenwolf, who are known and respected for their own contributions to the popularization of werewolves and to the therian community at large.
Even those who sign on and post once or not at all are still doing a service to the ultimate cause, because the Brownriggs are using this site's traffic as evidence of werewolf fandom demographics, so he can prove to the production companies that he's not making this stuff up about werewolf fans wanting werewolves that have tails and don't walk on ceilings.

Taking a Gestalt approach, since it's the "in" thing...

I'm a pack member like everyone else. No ranking. All are equal here.

I agree. As is, Legendary doesn't really mean anything. I like this ranking, myself (base 3):Shadowblaze wrote:The post # ranking needs to be stretched out more
under 3 (no moons)
4 - 9 (one moon)
10 - 27 (two moons)
28 - 81 (three moons)
82 - 243 (four moons)
245 and on (five moons + custom title)

It doesn't matter the # of posts. I'm not a high ranking official. Just a Pack member like everyone else. I just happen to be here everyday so I can keep up with whats going on.
*shrugs* Well - I can see pros and cons to both - in the short scale it makes even new people feel special, like they've accomplished something. It encourages people to stay around and chat long enough to get some more moons to their name because it's few enough to be a realistic goal - and by that time they're here to stay ^_~. And with how active most people are to the boards, most people who have gotten to legendary status are known around the boards.
On the other hand, there really is no gradiation beyond the legendary besides getting administrator or some other position, and I can understand the really oldbies with hundreds of posts to their names to want more deviation from someone with less than a hundred *shrugs*

Oldbie! (Oldbie?) I'll have you know, young whippersnapper, that back in the good ol' days a youngin' that spoke like that would've gotten her ears bit off, I tell ya'... The disrespect these days, ehhhhh.Arania wrote:*shrugs* Well - I can see pros and cons to both - in the short scale it makes even new people feel special, like they've accomplished something. (BTW, I made my first post 3 days before you did)
Anyway, I can see your point. Maybe instead of stretching the scale, we can just add to it. After 5 moons, we can extend the scale to include, say, a single full moon, two full moons, up to five full moons (and administrators can use the blue moderator graphic to differentiate themselves).

i'll second that. i like the "Pack Elder" title. it sounds cool. not as cool as legendary, but almost.
maybe we can give the title "God of The Pack" to people involved with the movie like AB and Silver and akujiwolf and such. and maybe for Pack members who get cast, "Demi-god of the Pack"
