In fact, if I'm not wrong, he was called "The biggest tenor of the World".MattSullivan wrote:That's a real bummer. You didn't even have to like opera to like that guy. Nagwoteena, Pavoratti is probably one of the most famous, if not THE most famous tenors in world history.
One of the things that made him famous was his constant contact with people.
As Bono (U2 leader) said: "His life and talent were great, but his work for poor and vulnerable people was even bigger"

Sure, I could have stayed, could have even been king. But in my own way...I am King. (grabs girl) Hail to the king, baby!

They played a whole tribute to him on my radio station last night. Three hours of Pavarotti.
Oh, man, if you could hear that voice. He never lost breath or flubbed out, he'd hit C's and held them forever. The power. The clarity.
He died of pancreatic cancer. Dear Gods. That's a death sentence. 20% survival rate, inoperable, no cure, not even chemo. All they can do is ply you with painkillers and hope you're that one in five who survives for longer than a year.
I'm going to pick up a Pavarotti CD today. That voice cannot die.
