This is apparently a musical. That should be... Interesting. Not a huge musical fan, though. Still... Tim Burton + Johnny Depp = Awesome.

Don't know. It used to always be Michael Keaton that he always cast, now it's Johnny Depp all of a sudden. Maybe he's got a fear of the unknown or something so he tries to only work with actors he's worked with before n' such.MoonKit wrote:What's with Tim Burton and only ever casting Johnny Depp and his wife.

I was supposed to see it yesterday, but didn't get to. I'll see it eventually, though.
By the way, has anyone seen the 1998 TV version with Ben Kingsley? It's on OnDemand right now and I'm thinking of watching it.

That's what those DVD-by-Mail services are for. You'll probably get it- late, if your theatre is not in a major city. There are only so many prints made of a film, and they get first shot in the highest grossing markets.tyger wrote:It's not in our theaters. I was looking at the schedule in anticipation and Whoops.. apparently we didn't get it. I swear some of our theaters wouldn't know entertainment if it hit them on the head.

Saw it with some friends who saw it before me. They were cool about spoilers but even if they weren't, I'd have loved it anyway.
Tim Burton + Stephen Sondheim + Johnny Depp + Alan Rickman + Helena Bonham Carter couldn't possibly, by any stretch of the imagination, verifiably by science, suck -- in any way, shape or form.
I LOVED that shot of Johnny and Helena in 1890s beach outfits, with Johnny holding onto his character's obsessive, malevolent glower the whole time. True Burtonian perversion
