Dear Distorted: doing the change thing you referred to has already been talked about here. Cellular change (mitosis) takes energy, and once that energy is spent, it has to be replaced.
Autopophagy (self-eating or using one's own cells as food) brings a whole host of problems, not the least of which is getting the process to stop at a certain point (reverted to human). Add in that for some reason our own bodies are somewhat poisonous to us, as in kidney disease caused by starvation.
Try reading the thread, then rephrase your question; as it is, it's a little jumbled.
