Re: Depressing moods...
I was tempted to make a pun about the economy having an effect on everyone, because so many people are "depressed", but I shan't.
And it seems I just did.
Bah. Oh well!
I can't really suggest any miracle cures for depression though, as to myself as well, it's an old friend. As an INFP and a dreamer, the fantastic tends to tug at the edges of my mind, and things are usually magnitudes of interesting inside there, less so outside. Alone that can have an effect, but differing forms of escapism are always a good cure.
Forming get-togethers with like-minded people and getting involved in group escapism is usually a fantastic form of anti-depression in my book. Everything from a good game of Werewolf (or any pen & paper RPG) to experimenting with hypnosis.
Still though, even reading Grant Morrison's run on the Doom Patrol is sometimes enough to bolster me.
If anyone's depressed, it's probably that they're not taking enough time to work with their anti-depression mechanisms, and I think everyone has those. Sometimes one has to do that, even at the expense of everything else, despite any possible dangers involved, caution to the wind and all that.
Wselwulf: I actually didn't think of taking it that way! I thought Baph meant that things will continue to bring you down until you force yourself up, and so on.

Since I don't feel like updating my mood on here every time it changes, I just leave it at what my mood usually is.

Mine will stay at "disappointed" until I get hired on with another gas hauling company. The one I'm at now sucks!! I put an application at another gas hauling company which has better benefits. I should know if I'm hired by the end of this month.

Re: Depressing moods...
I just recently changed mine from "disappointed" to "sad" and I had considered "depressed." What I wanted to put was "confused" or "unsure".
I dont know. Just some stuff going on. *shrugs* Ill be good in no time. Everybody else better cheer up too!

Re: Depressing moods...
Well. . . Mine changes too often for me to always want to go in and change it. Hell, I don't even remember what I left it at. So if it's "depressed" or "disappointed," that may or may not be accurate.

Re: Depressing moods...
I find the same.
That and I just don't want to bring the Pack down, as I tend to get even more depressed when I manage to depress someone else, and that's just a bit of a vicious circle, really. I'm almost tempted to go and set my mood as happy, to help restore the balance.

Listening to Cut Myself, by Thosearentmuskets can do wonders to improve your mood. If you don't listen to it, they will cut themselves.
I'm far too apathetic to do anything about being depressed, aside from that burst of willpower earlier this year when I quit my job. I realized that I was living a mediocre life, and was accepting it. That scared me more profoundly than anything else ever has, I want my life to be worth living.
And now I have a new job, and I'm basically doing the exact same thing, except with you guys, so I guess that makes it worth it.

If I recall, I "should" have a 4 day work week instead of a 6 day. I'll know more once I start on the 10th of December.Xiroteus wrote:That is some good new, a good job with good benefits, going to have crazy busy hours with them as well?

Much better then six days, more free time, guessing those days may be long.

Cool Fig! I'm hoping for something similar... I just got laid off by the US Army (with a modest pension)... I won't actually be OUT of the Army for awhile yet, but start clearing tomorrow.
