Actually it's almost impossible to make one bigger then that. It'll scale itself up to almost any size automatically simply because flash is a vector-based file format. Plus, unlike rastor, vector files don't become any larger as you scale them up, as you probably noticed, that file was only a few KB's in size.Figarou wrote:WolvenOne wrote:I would like to nominate myself for the "Largest Emoticon," award.

I'm not the one complaining about topic drift. Or telling people to stay on topic. Sometimes going off topic can be a learning experience.Shadow Wulf wrote:Figarou and wolvenone gets the MOST TOPIC DRIFT IN PACK FORUM AWARD.....you see Fig, you topic drift as much as anyone

That's because I don't need to download anything to view an animated gif.WolvenOne wrote:yeah, flash is supperior to gif in almost every way... yet I still see more gifs then flash floating around the net..... go fig.
Plus, people abuse flash in the most annoying ways, and that makes others loath to download it.

BLASPHAMY! BOW DOWN BEFORE FLASH MASTER OF FILE FORMATS!Lupin wrote:That's because I don't need to download anything to view an animated gif.WolvenOne wrote:yeah, flash is supperior to gif in almost every way... yet I still see more gifs then flash floating around the net..... go fig.

Seriously though, I've studied this carefully and the vast majority of users have flash installed already, and as long as you don't embed too much into the format it's far smaller and prettier then gif. It's by far the most versatile of the formats used for internet-animation, that's really not in question... Yeah it's versatile enough that it can be abused, but that actually demonstrates the strength of the platform.

I've never worried much about topic dirft. There's a natural cycle about those things anyway. It's just how human conversation works. If the thread's gone off topic, and you want it back on topic, post about something that's on topic. It works a lot better than complaing.Figarou wrote:I'm not the one complaining about topic drift. That or split the off topic posts into a new thread.
Personally, I hate Flash. There are some things it's good for, such as interactivity (i.e. games), sound, or flash videos, but it's very annoying otherwise, especially when misused, which is entirely too common.
To tell the truth, if I see a website that uses too much Flash, I go elsewhere if possible. And as for those annoying ads, well... that's what Flashblock is for.
